I just think it's rather odd that a nation that prides itself on its virility should feel compelled to strap on forty pounds of protective gear just in order to play rugby.

Well.... it sounds like, over in BBaBB our resident coding geniuses, including our beloved weremonkey, are working on the possibility of allowing us to pick and choose which threads we see (or, I guess, not see) spoiler font in. That would allows hos to not have to deal with white font here, while the merely curious would still have to highlight spoiler font to read it.

Don't know if they'll be successful, but it sounds like that's what they're trying to do.

It also sounds like they're working on making spoiler font truly transparent, and not just white.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Unless Gus is working on his own, that hasn't been started yet. Changes are being made to make the coding easier, but no coding has officially begun.

Ahhh.... Okay. Thanks, ita.

I thought I understood the geek-speak. I mistranslated.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

I'm not even sure that it solves the problem all that well. Not that it can't be coded, but if you turn off the white font for your own viewing, what's going to remind you to use white font when you post for those who don't turn it off.

I was going to say, "Brilliant!" but it looks like my bubble is also burst, Sean.

Bag the crypto. Say what is on your mind.

No I have not done anything about user style sheets beyond preparing the 's' quickedit to be ready for it, if and when. There is a lot to be discussed as to how user styles would be administered.

Just to confuse things, I've had a brainstorm-y idea that spoilers could fairly easily be placed "inside" a small button, so that people who wanted to read them would have to push the button and read it in a message box. This might be a pain in the tuchas for full-on 'ho's.

Another notion is to have multiple styles of spoiler font, so that a person could set their user style sheet to allow, say, Lost spoilers to shine through, but not O.C.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Yes. A major part of what I'm hearing from full-on hos (and I definitely include myself in that list) is that the spoiler zone has always been the place to read and write unrestricted, without extra coding, shit to click on, and (absolutely most importantly of all) having to worry all the time about "am I allowed to say that in this particular thread before the third Tuesday after the full moon". It's about being able your feet up on the coffee table after the in-laws leave, not about whether it's a button or a whitefont we have to manipulate.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Agreed. While I'd prefer to have this thread be an anything-goes-post-whatever-you've-heard area, it sounds like most of the whitefont workarounds would be more onerous than whitefont itself, and likely result in lots of accidental spoilage until people got used to the new method.

I appreciate and respect all your work, but that sounds like a major pain to use.

Plus, how would it work with threadsucking?
