Jayne: Yeah, that was some pretty risky sittin' you did there. Wash: That's right, of course, 'cause they wouldn't arrest me if we got boarded, I'm just the pilot. I can always say I was flying the ship by accident.

Alice Horton? From Days of our lives? on a donut?

(watched Days in my days as a preschooler... the last thing I remember is Bo and Hope's wedding and a motorcycle, and some sort of serial murder involving Tony DiMeara and Marlena Evans. And Don Craig)

Please disregard if not talking about THAt Alice Horton.

What is even happening?

Yes, that Alice Horton. I watched it from birth until probably when I found BtVS (in season 3...so, 6 years ago). I don't watch it these days, but my mother will tune in and sometimes, she tells me what's going on, so if I'm flipping the channel and the reruns are on the soap channel, I'll stop and watch. They had some weird plot where everyone was getting killed. And it was either Marlena doing the killing or it was set up to look like it was Marlena. But then they had Alice choke to death on one of her own donuts. Dude, that's just wrong.

The last time I looked, everyone was alive again and on some island that looked just like Salem, and back in Salem, some young woman (Mimi, maybe) had Sean Douglas in a cage, and I just couldn't stick out the reruns on Soap net to figure out what happened. It got too crazy.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

OMG, THEY KILLED ALICE HORTON?!?!?

YOU BASTARDS!!!!

(Seriously, I loved her.)

What is even happening?

Dude. On one of her own donuts. I cannot stress how upsetting that was to me (at least not in any way that involves much beyond continually using the words "dude" and "donut").

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I thought that whole killing everybody storyline was a big stunt and it was all going to be reset somehow.

You mean like how I said:

? (ya big skimmer)

I am not sure about Alice though. They might have left her dead. I'll have to check with my mom.

One of the donuts for which she was loved and lauded, no less.

Oh dear! I loved Alice Horton! And that is just a ridiculous death to be subjected to. I am sure Bert Bauer from Guidding Light (soap opera from 4th grade til Buffy) was not killed in such a demeaning manner!

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

A DONUT?!?

I can't accept this. She was Grandma Fucking HORTON!

Now I want to go to Tim Horton's for donuts.
