Cindy, was it ever mentioned in the Buffy thread that AH was going to be on the show in the first place? If so, then I don't see a problem saying that she's not going to be on the show after all. OTOH, if it was never mentioned, and she's not going to be it the new show anyway, there's probably no need to bring it up.

Ah, but it has in the past, because saying that so-and-so was cast in a show meant that he/she was less likely to ever appear in a theoretical Buffyverse spinoff/TV movie/infomercial at some undefined point in the future, and some people didn't want to know that *maybe* Xander wouldn't be able to appear in a show that didn't yet exist.
Don't make me Nilly the kerfluffle, because it made my head hurt.

IIRC, "negative spoilers" were the very bread-and-butter of the spoiler-definition vote a year and a half ago. Complaint about negative spoilers in NAFDA threads was what got the ball rolling for the now-official rule that summer main-credits casting could not be considered a spoiler.
So, negatively spoil all you like. Vincent Price is dead; therefore, he will not be guest-starring on Veronica Mars.

This makes me wonder if there are still people out there avoiding all contact with media and other fans so as to avoid spoiling the 8th Season of Buffy that they're sure is going to start airing any day now.
