Gavin, ask yourself this question. What are you more afraid of, a giant murderous demon or me?

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

I'm not enthused by the casting myself.

Neither am I. I like Ioan Gruffudd, but he's way too young to be Reed Richards. And Jessica Alba as Sue Storm?

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

What were the comments?

I can't recall exactly, because it was around the time where Byrne was saying (WRT Jessica Alba) that dark skinned women with bleached hair all look like call girls, and thus my THE FUCK??!? circuits had shorted out. Basic minor griping about casting Kerry Washington as Alicia Masters and wondering if it was because the powers that be felt they needed more non-white people in the movie.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

dark skinned women with bleached hair all look like call girls

I can see as how I mightn't have made it past this point.

Yeah, I think between that and the claim that women just ain't wired right to be able to understand comics, Byrne was going for 2004's Most Offensive Human Alive award.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

victor, I hope you are right but I just envision people having problems with a Black Wonder Woman.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Yeah, but it's not like it's a character that's been played a lot--Linda Carter, sure, but not much beyond the old TV show.

And one of the Crosby sisters in a really bad TV movie (which was on a Catwoman level for not sticking to the source material - at least the Carter show started WWII era, although I completely missed if they ever justified bringing into present day while keeping Lyle). Were there any old-time serials like with Bats and Supes?

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I think those were all from the losers at the John Byrne board, or from Byrne himself.

There's a distinction between the former and the latter?

Whenever I start to feel worried about the FF casting, I remind myself that Chicklis is the perfect choice to play Ben Grimm. And that Chris Evans is not at all shy and will be playing the Human Torch in scenes set prior to the invention of unstable molecule costumes.

Only in terms of payscale.

6 or four? Aren't most network shows 22 eps. now (24 excepted)?
