Ummmm, am I a dummy, or wasn't there a whole episode built around the reason they needed to burn the bodies rather than bury them? I.e. island critters of the carnivorous sort would just dig the bodies up and tear off chunks and cart them off into the fricken jungle?

It would serve Dr. Jack right if the key he needs is somewhere in the small intestines of a jackal or a cougar or a vulture on the other side of the island.

I imagine one body stashed somewhere in the jungle is considerably less dangerous than around a hundred bodies out in the open on the beach though. Also, I'm willing to cut Jack a little slack considering he'd just performed his first mercy killing (apparently WITH HIS BARE HANDS! WTF?!?) and was already well into the sleep deprivation/PTSD episode that sent him giggling through the jungle to go Extreme Cliff Diving and following the trail of Drusilla's doll collection.

Totally nothing to do with Lost. I was googling for more information on Tim's upcoming series, The Inside, when I came across a Herc piece updating us on the whereabouts of the ME writing staff alum [link] He mentions Ben Edlund is writing an episode of Marti's new series. His episode is entitled, "Who's Your Daddy," which cracked me up 10 ways to Sunday, since Ben is a MA native. Just thought I'd share. The above-linked page includes a recap about the current show affiliations of folks like Goddard, DeKnight, Fury, Smith, Craft and Fein, and all the rest. Most of it was known to me, but still useful to have it all on one page.

Okay, so I heard that no more Lost for 4 weeks after next week's ep. Is this true?

TV Guide on-line shows a new ep on the 8th too.

Don't most shows go into reruns in December and January?

I will be seriously on edge if we don't get to see the ep after the two I spoiled, because the episode right after that is going to contain flashbacks to events that happen offscreen during the ep that's airing right now. The script to Daddy Issues is even peppered with comments about how everything will make total sense after the third ep in the mini-arc airs. So they have to air them all in a row. My sanity depends on it!

The obvious logic of airing those episodes in a straight run almost guarantees that they won't.
