I agree. And this was the first that I'd read about it.
Channel 4 stated that this was by mutual decision before the series went into production and had nothing to do with her recent conviction.

I don't know if anyone here watches Body of Proof, but it looks like the cast is going to be very different next season, with three actors leaving. link
I just started watching it last season. That's a significant loss of characters, that is. Huh.

I'm guessing they're going in a new direction with the show, but the show doesn't make any sense if she is going to solve crimes without any cops. I always thought she would eventually end up with the cop she worked directly with; he's most of the reason for watching the show.

Boo and yay in that order! I love Joshua Malina, but I really enjoyed Cusick's character.
