The Samulet will not be back. It's guesting on One Tree Hill, and Kripke wishes it well.
Warning, bitterness ahead: I find that I am unable to forgive TPTB for abandoning the Samulet so callously and being so flippant about it. That pendant holds such enormous emotional investment for the boys and the fans and somehow they just.don't.care.
ita, thanks for your reports from the Panel.
somehow they just.don't.care
They've said that discarding it was a deliberate sign about the state of the boy's relationship. That they've moved on from that symbol. If you thought you'd made such a statement on purpose, I can see why you get flippant when people keep trying to erase it.
Wait until they get rid of the Impala (I saw a clip somewhere of a Mustang with the CNK 8OQ3 plate--but I'm sure we don't actually lose her for long). Then I will be upset.
Episode 20 (Edlund writing and directing) will be Cas-centric and feature his "childhood". I don't know how literal that is.
I wonder if it will be told symbolically, with Misha playing Cas in flashbacks? It would seem weird to have a Cas-centric episode where the character is played by other actors. Or perhaps small shrewlike proto-mammals if this is taking place millions of years ago.

They've done it with Mary and John. Granted they weren't my favorites, but the show clearly Goes There.

I would so watch this. And hope for David Attenborough narration.
(screaming with laughter)
I love it.

I could see Misha jumping for this idea and insisting in being in full costume and makeup for it.
EW spoilers for SPN:
So, we all know you went to the Supernatural panel at PaleyFest. So DISH! — Amanda
How ever did you know? It was probably the sound of the heaven’s opening up that alerted you. Anyway, to add to the season finale scoop I posted this weekend, Jim Beaver also told me that as we cruise through the rest of the season we can expect to see a lot more of a group dynamic, meaning more Bobby and Cas!! “The last few episodes of the season are very much a team effort. My sense of it is it’s not a lot of us going off on our separate ways. It’s a lot of us working together on the big questions facing us and we answer a few of them – but not all of them,” he said. As for what questions will be answered, he couldn’t say much, but offered up this extreme tease: “Certain relationships among the group have some rather climactic shifts. Don’t expect the four of us to all be relating the same way at the end of the season as we were at the beginning.” The sound you hear now, is my heart thumping in fear.
So happy for you that you finally met the Supernatural boys. I’m hoping you brought some scoop back for us! — Jen
Was my desperation that obvious? And yes, I bring you back word on the big reappearance of Momma Winchester (Samantha Smith) in one of the future episodes. Jensen Ackles hinted that her return may not be a welcomed one. “She comes back under some different circumstances. And whenever she shows her face – especially for Dean – it’s very difficult and very emotional,” he told me. “Especially when she comes back different and is trying to trick them or a demon is using her to lure them into something. We just shot a scene with Sam, who’s fantastic, and we love it when she comes back for any reason. Evil or not.”
Please bring us scoop on Supernatural! – Megan
Do I detect a theme here? All right, so despite a montage hinting that we’d reached a conclusion to the Lisa and Ben story, Ackles told me there will be a more definitive end to the story of Dean’s domestication and time with the mother-son pair. “That, I believe, is going to be a weak point or an achilles heel at some point,” he said. “There’s definitely a conclusion that comes, and it’s a very emotional conclusion.” And as we all know, their crying makes for the best episodes.
I think I'm ready to be done with appearances of Lisa and Ben. Dean's time with them should definitely be seen to have had an impact on his life - I'm not saying that he should ride off into the sunset and never think about them ever again. They were important to him and should be treated as such. I was glad to see Sam push him into the car and make him go back to face them in "Mannequin 3: The Reckoning." But I personally don't feel the need to have them pop up on my screen every few episodes. And if Lisa has indeed made the decision to move on with her life, well then, let her move on.
I agree, but also, narratively, if Lisa and Ben fall to harm even after Dean walks out of their lives, it'd be an excellent showcase that Shit Will Happen. Dean could be a danger by being in their lives, Dean could be a danger out of their lives, their lives could just be in danger full stop, regardless of Dean's presence. Canon, he's cut himself out. Lisa has cut him out. Shit Will Happen.
I boggled at Sera saying that Dean staying at Lisa's made sense, but, this is what we got, and, if there's something to wash that horrid montage of doors opening out, I'm not totally adverse to it. Although I'd really hoped we'd seen the backside of that storyline. Drop it like the Campbells. Ah well, we'll see how it pans out. BRING THE PAIN!!
Whoohah! "Old" Mary!
Do you see Dean's face? My heart hurts just from that still. The tears in the eyes. Gah.
