Angel: I appreciate you guys looking out for Connor all summer. It's just—he's confused. He needs time. That's all. Fred: Right. Time, and some corporal punishment with a large heavy mallet. Not that I'm bitter.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

PLEASE let Cas be in this episode.

Also, there's an upcoming episode titled The French Mistake, Matt, so you might want to get prepared.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

So Sam and Dean wake up and are called Jared and Jensen...and Genevieve Cortese is appearing in the episode, which probably means Ruby mistaken identity hijinx.

You know, contrary to what I just said in Lite, I am less unsure of her guesting. Still thinking that the "mistaken identities" and overly wink nod is going to be unbearably Motts for me, but her guesting makes some sense now.

Prepared as in make sure the DVD recorder is set? I've sought the scenario out in fanfic. It's when the show breaks the fourth wall that I get cringe-y.

Oh man, 6.14 is going to be the doing of Becky, isn't it?

50% of my D/C reading might be generously characterised as French Mistake. I am agog to see where they might go with it.

Misha will be in the Jensen Jared episode which is the one titled The French Mistake. SCORE.

Premise of the Torchwood series.

"What would it take to get your daughter to stop tweeting about this?"

So the episode with Jared and Jensen is the same one titled the French Mistake?

I thought 6.14 was going to be the one that blasts the fourth wall to smithereens?

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Ohthankgoodness. Because no matter how skin-crawlingly Motts-y the episode may be (and I'm betting a lot), it will be improved by Misha. I hope they write good dialog for him.

"I make mistakes, but I am on the side of Good," the Golux said, "by accident and happenchance.” – The 13 Clocks, James Thurber

I'm seeing what you'd expect in the way of reactions from the craxy fanpeople: there are those making high-pitched dolphin noises of glee (and more than half of those are gleefully anticipating the lusty Dean/Cas or Jensen/Misha hijinks) and there are those firmly declaring that the show is leaping over the shark and this time really, really they won't be watching the show any longer. I find myself rather uninterested. It seems a waste of an episode to me, because these types of episodes (Ghostfacers, The Real Ghostbusters, even Changing Channels) leave me cold. From the episode description it sounds like pure fan service. I'm hoping that they manage to surprise me despite myself with an interesting and enjoyable episode.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Changing Channels is one of my favourite episodes of the series, not just the season, and I found The Real Ghostbusters quite entertaining.

Of the shit they've fucked up for me, it hasn't been the meta. They've done that well in my estimation. Fan service that failed? Paris Hilton.

Most of the fan reaction I've read has been very negative. But most of the fan reaction I read is negative. I'm not entirely sure why some of these people are still watching, because they seem to get pain from every episode. But, that's personal, I suppose.

Some of it seems to be rationally negative, the worry that there's no point. Eh, there's a point if they give it a point. It just has to be machinations of an adversary and a lesson learnt, and why not this over a werewolf or zombie? It's a potentially entertaining supernatural obstacle. I tune in every week to see if they will fuck that up or not.

And then there's the HOW DARE THEY MOCK US outrage which, I just...oh, get over yourself. If you seriously feel you're being mocked by the show, you probably deserve it. But I firmly believe the show's writers don't see themselves as the cool kids, and anyone who thinks they're being shoved into a locker by Gamble and Edlund is looking to be victimised.

Also, if you're mad that Genevieve is appearing for any reason other than you don't like her acting, I'm probably not listening to you either.
