Ah, on demand it is! I can't believe James didn't realise what his Torchwood role would involve - he must have been shitting bricks when he saw the script!!

Spoilers 3: First Mutant Enemy, Now the World
[NAFDA] Spoilers for any and all currently running TV shows. All hardcore spoilage, all the time. No white font.
They chop the episodes down by 10 minutes for foreign distribution anyway at BBC Wales
No they don't - the international and broadcast versions are identical except that the international versions ship with split audio (& textless, if they're being sold in a non-English speaking market). All reversioning is done over here by the network that's going to air it. (Or in a few cases by BBC NY Production, which, like BBCA, is not technically a part of the BBC in spite of the name. It's a little complicated.)
And, I believe, that BBCA has said that they're not cutting for content - just for time.
Woops. Yes, I just checked, and my ass was typing there. It'll be between 2 to 4 minutes shorter on BBCA, apparently.
BBC Press release for the Sarah Jane Adventures and spoilery promo pictures including this heartwarming picture.
I'm feeling so amused by the conversation in SPN right now. I hope that those folks aren't spoiled -- I mean instigating a conversation based on spoilery knowledge in a thread supposedly w/o spoilers is not on, right?
I hope that they enjoy the plot point rather than get pissed off by it.

Right. Which is why, other than encouraging someone to run with a plot bunny, I am keeping my mouth shut over there rather than let something accidentally slip.
eep!
I fess up to starting a conversation about said topic, but only vaguely remembered the spoiler when I read your post, sumi. My speculation was based on a fic I just read a day or so ago, which gave me a hankering. I promise that the one had nothing to do with the other.
I think the idea's been tossed around in fic and meta so often that it's almost part of fanon by now.
Perhaps the folks in the SPN writer's room have been indulging in fanfic?
ETA: I was totally in an OMG I wish I could say something state of mind.
