What is even happening?

Sorry, Laura. When I checked back, no one had answered, and then I forgot to check again. I stopped subscribing to this thread a while ago, because I haven't wanted to tempt myself. And WUWT, by the way?

Here goes...

Spoilers for Donut Run, scroll by if you don't want to know.

  • Duncan and Veronica have apparently broken up.

  • As I expected once I learned the title, Duncan runs off with the baby.

  • Duncan names the baby Lilly.

  • I am earwormed with insta-filk: Run, Donut. Run. The Homecoming Queen's got a gun.

  • The Chicago cops track down Wallace. In Chicago, Wallace was involved (although not driving) in a hit and run.

  • Sean is back and dealing drugs.

  • Logan and Weevi fight crime!!! They're trying to figure out who killed Felix. By the end of this ep., it seems to shake out that Felix was the PCHer involved with the Fitzpatricks and he was killed by them.

  • Celeste is in this one, and reportedly is her bitchtacular self.

  • Logan reportedly gets off some good snark in this one.

The twist to the episode is that Veronica is working with Duncan from the beginning, in order to help him get away with the baby. Honestly, I expected that as well, because of the promise Meg extracted from her, but I'm not disappointed to learn it. The way it was worded is that they "fake" their break-up. Since Donut is gone (and I think Teddy Dunn is gone from the regular cast) I don't know what practical difference there could be for the long term, but for this episode, I guess it means they're still on good terms, but no one else knows that.

Veronica and Duncan manage to fool both Lamb and the FBI Agent (Lucy Lawless), but not Keith. Keith, of course, figures it out and is angry with Veronica, but has her back with the FBI & Lamb. Apparently, that other PI (I think it's Vinnie Van Lowe) is in it, and is also twist-y, in that he ends up being kind of a good guy.

My understanding is that the episode is very good, with many developments.

Trust my rage

I am so out of it on these sorts of things, but is Donut Duncan's internet nickname? If so, does that mean that the title is sort of SO to the fans?

What is even happening?

Stephanie, Lilly called Duncan "Donut" early on, and the interbunny fans ran with it.

Our wings are not tired.

Woot! Thanks. I'm looking forward to getting new stuff again. Yay for Keith being the good dad.

Hmm, Duncan's come up with a whole new meaning to "Time to make the donuts."

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

For those watching Smallville:

SPOILERS :: In the 100th episode of the series, Clark (Tom Welling) reveals his secret to Lana (Kristin Kreuk), Jonathan (John Schneider) and Lex (Michael Rosenbaum) learn the results of the senatorial election and there is a tragic car accident on the highway that takes the life of someone Clark loves. A desperate Clark appeals to Jor-El for help.

And some additional spoilers on the two deaths in this week's episode -- Lana Lang will die in the episode but will come back to life. Jonathan Kent will die... and not come back to life. Smallville episode "Reckoning" will air on the WB this Thursday, January 26th @ 8/9c.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Can't we just keep Lana dead? I knew I shouldn't read spoilers... Now I won't find as much joy in her death.
