Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Sark, with tongue.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

I wonder if his role will recur?

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

(Okay, have time for a few spoilers, while DH is making tea.)

The standoff comes to an end when Starbuck poses as a Cylon raider and makes both fleets start chasing her.

Adama and Kane have a sit-down with Roslin, in which they agree not to kill anyone until after the Cylon fleet is destroyed. After Kane leaves, Roslin tells Adama that he will have to kill her. Adama's all When did you become so bloodthirsty? and she's all Dude, you know I'm right.

Apollo is relieved of command. Starbuck is promoted to Pegasus CAG.

And DH is back with the tea, so I don't even have time to tell you about how Adama and Kane order each others' assassinations because I have to go see how it ends! Bye!

Wow, you're evil. I respect that.

Seriously, thanks for the taunting! I like knowing a little but still being surprised by how things play out, so maybe I won't read the full summary. Maybe.

they agree not to kill anyone until after the Cylon fleet is destroyed

Just imagining this conversation makes me giggle.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

WOW.

Okay, so the ship that Kane was all eager to get pictures of turns out to be the Cylon's Resurrection Ship. It's where they keep all the spare bodies in case one of them dies, since they're too far from their homeworld to be uploaded all the way there. With the Resurrection ship gone, any Cylon who's killed in battle is really permanently dead.

Starbuck's Blackbird photos are so impressive that she's immediately promoted to Pegasus CAG.

Baltar is able to find out what the ship is from Prison!Six, but not exactly the way he wants. See, she assumed that after completing her mission and being revealed as a Cylon, Kane would kill her. She never expected to be tortured and raped, and now she wants to die. Baltar tells her she knows that's impossible ('cause of the uploading thing), to which she responds "Not if you destroy that ship." So there's that.

The assassination thing is AWESOME. Roslin and Adama keep having these conversations where she's like "DUDE YOU HAVE TO KILL HER" and he's like "STOP SAYING THAT IT'S CREEPY."

Via getting drunk with the Pegasus XO again, Tigh discovers that Kane used to have a civilian fleet with her as well. She stripped the ships for parts, conscripted some of the survivors (anyone who wouldn't enlist got to see their families executed in front of a firing squad), and left the rest to die in space. Just in case we weren't sure she was a threat to the survival of everyone we cared about. It does help to make up Adama's mind, though.

The final scene of Ressurection Ship Part 1 has Kane assigning her XO who's name I forget to the Galactica with a team of Marines. His assignment is to stay in CIC and wait for her call. When she says "Execute Command Orange," he will "relieve Adama of his command."

Adama gives similar instructions to Starbuck, but phrases it "I want you to shoot Admiral Kane in the head."

AND IT'S ALL INTERCUT AND WONDERFUL AND SHOOT KANE IN THE HEAD IS THE LAST LINE OF THE EP OMG.

So the WHOLE MISSION during the next ep is just riddled with this tension of who will win. And it's SO GOOD.

Also, Lee seems to be floating in space dying for some reason. But he doesn't. Die, that is.

And when neither Adama nor Kane gives the order to execute, it's such a huge huge relief. To the audience, but especially to Starbuck, who's kind of bonded with Kane in the meantime. She respects her deeply. (Obviously, not knowing what Kane had done to her former XO, and to her former civilian fleet. And I doubt she'll ever find out, which is fabulous.)

Only after the Resurrection Ship is destroyed, Prison!Six only has one mission left. Gaius won't help her die, but he will help her get revenge. With his help, she steals a guard's gun and goes after Kane herself.

Kane's last words are "Frack me." (To which Six replies, "You're not my type.")

Starbuck gives a moving eulogy. Adama is promoted to Admiral, and he and Roslin share an incredibly sweet friendly kiss. Awww.
