About How I Met Your Mother:

The frame of the story is that it's 2030 and the lead guy is explaining to his kids how he met their mother. (Shocking twist, no?) So the whole episode is about how he meets this girl in a bar who is perfect for him, but he hesitates on kissing her on their first date. He goes back to her place later to kiss her but misses the signals again. Then it goes back to the frame and he explains how he thought he'd never see her again, but fate intervened, and that's the story of how he met their Aunt.

So it's a total McGuffin.

It was actually kind of funny and charming, and then the twist end made me roll my eyes. NPH was great, and everyone else was fine.

I just don't know how long they are going to string us all along and expect us to care.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

No whitefont in the spoiler thread!

Anyway.

OMGBSGPEGASUS!

This episode is AMAZING. When the last scene hit, I literally had no idea the show was about to end, and then I noticed the timecode at 42 minutes, and started whimpering and making helpless gestures at the TV. Just....wow.

Pegasus finds Galactica, and command is instantly handed over to Admiral Kane because she's the ranking officer. Roslyn finds this strange and awkward, but Adama assures her that in the military, that's just how things are. The Pegasus is a much more modern ship than the Galactica.

Admiral Kane, shockingly, turns out to be kind of a sadistic hardass. After going through Galactica's logs, she decides to integrate the crews, taking away the commands of both Adamas. Father and son are both unhappy. Lee and Kara get transferred to the Pegasus.

Before this happens, we also learn that the Pegasus has a Cylon prisoner on board too. Baltar is invited to examine her.

It's a Six.

She's lying on the floor, filthy and covered in cuts and bruises. She obviously hasn't eaten in days, and she's obviously been tortured. Watching Baltar and Mind!Six realize what/who they're looking at is absolutely wrenching.

Turns out that the Pegasus has been tracking a Cylon fleet that's been tracking the Colonial fleet, so Lee and Starbuck are sent on a recon mission with Pegasus' vipers. Well, until Starbuck tells the Pegasus CAG that his plan sucks during the briefing, and is kicked off the mission entirely. Lee is assigned to fly the CAG's raider. Ouch. So Starbuck, now with nothing to do, takes the Blackbird out to see if she can't one-up him.

While drinking with the Pegasus' XO, Tigh learns that Kane shot her old XO in the head for disobeying an order.

Baltar convinces Kane to let him deal with their Cylon prisoner his own way. He puts a plate of food on the floor in front of her, and just talks. This is his best scene in the entire series so far. For his sake, I really hope the room isn't bugged, but it probably is.

The now-integrated deck crews are drinking and laughing, only the Pegasus crews' jokes are mostly about how fun it would be to bang the Cylon prison-girls. Helo and the Chief put up with it until they realize that it's not entirely a joke, and that there's a Pegasus team interrogating Sharon right now.

They pull the officer off of her just as he's unzipping his pants, and Helo beats him to death against the cell walls. Oops. They are both instantly arrested and taken to the Pegasus for a court martial.

Adama is not happy. He wants the court martial on Galactica, as they're his officers. Kane tells him (in so many words) that she's the boss and he can go to hell if he doesn't like it.

Brief scene with Lee and the Pegasus CAG -- Lee's heart really isn't in this mission because of he now knows is happening with Helo and the Chief. The CAG doesn't give a crap. Starbuck is still out there somewhere with the Blackbird.

Adama gets a call -- the court martial is over. Helo and the Chief have been found guilty of treason, and will be executed.

So Adama gives Kane a call. And launches vipers.

Kane takes the call, and sees the vipers. She orders her ship to go to Condition 1.

So does Adama.

And that's the last thing that happens until January.
