I'm just sad that the original Zod rumors were untrue. Well, not that sad, as I'd be in a froth of One True Zodness and cranky with fans of the new Zod, but damn it, the thought of a million Kneel Before Zod related jokes was very entertaining.
Yes, I am aware that I need to get out more.
So, in Spoilers Hard to Avoid news (seriously, the local news website and TWO of the baby blogs I read spoiled me for it today), they're working JG's pregnancy into Alias. Sydney will be pregnant with blah blah blah Vaughn/NotVaughn's sprog.
I'll be over here, rolling my eyes and cursing Affleck's sperm.
This sort of thing never ends well.
Do you think that's why they're bringing on Rachel Nichols? I think I read something in the casting spoiler connected to her, about Sydney training a couple of other women. I remember at the time wondering how much of it was related to JG's pregnancy.
That's precisely why, Cindy.
PMM -- do you think they can not write in the pregnancy?
Working it in might work better than action scenes with strategically placed potted plants.
Given the show's previous dependence on action scenes and skimpy clothing -- I don't think they can have her in the field without a whole lot of explanation.
She could suddenly turn into Scully, and have a wild affection for voluminous trench coats!
Of course the likelihood of entertaining sexual tension with people she hates goes down substantially. I can think of the snarky things Sark might say, but the dominant paradigm seems to be that pregnant ladies do not play sexual head games. Alas!
Heh, spoiler for LOST (casting and otherwise):
OZ STAR GETS LOST: Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, who played Oz's Simon from 1997 to 2000, is joining the cast of ABC's Lost this fall as "a mysterious man whose presence on the island will be explained in early [Season 2] episodes." His first words are, "For the love of god get me out of this hatch!"

Sadly, it would be hard not to, for the reasons already mentioned in thread. Thus the cursing of Affleck's sperm. Though, of course, they could have given her a field injury that required the desk job (with a very large belly-hiding desk), which while laughable in the short term would probably work better for the show in the long run.
Though if she gives birth to Naked Gina Torres, it's all good.
