I battle evil. But I don't really win. The bad keeps coming back and getting stronger. Like that kid in the story, the boy that stuck his finger in the duck.

Guy #1: Man, there are so many hipsters around. I hate hipsters! Guy #2: You're at the wrong place. That's like going to Vegas only to say "I hate titties!" --The Warsaw, Williamsburg (OINY)

I want to marry Cleolinda and have a million of her babies.

Jack and Kate are juxtaposed over each other (far away, yet so close omg!) in half-transparency like a bad LJ icon that I will totally make as soon as I finish this recap. Man, just GET IT ON ALREADY. The End.

"When's your birthday?" Awww. Judging by Mercutio's answer, I'm going to say it's on the 14th of Noogie. Sawyer jackholes soulfully. - ibid.

All is well that ends in pizza.

From Cleolinda's recap:

He tells Locke that it's been eight days and eleven hours (awww) since he's last played his guitar, and Locke assures Charlie that he will see it again, in this tone that suggests he is telekinetically finding it in the rubble and gluing it back together as we speak. Don't think he can't do it.

Love that.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

So it looks like Michael is Walt's father. I liked their little scene there.

Loved the ep, and even kind of like Jin now, or at least sympathize with him.

The people who don't get the Sawyer pretty are wack. He was just gorgeous in the scene on the beach with Kate. Yum

I thought Shannon was one of the people at the campfire on the beach, or at least there was someone who looked like her.

Gosh, I guess I'm going to have to go rewatch the episode from the beginning...

I still liked Charlie's early lines in the ep:

"If you guys have finished verbally copulating, we should get a move on."

and

"Oh. You guys have an inside joke. How absolutely wonderful for you."

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

Excellent ep, glad I remembered to tape it. One thing I noticed that I hadn't seen in a previous episode--during the opening credits, they timed showing Kate, Charlie, and Locke following Jack through the jungle as the actors' names popped up on screen (since their names are alphabetically in that order). Clever!

I had been spoiled about Sun's English, but I was blown away by her being the Korean Soprano daughter. You have to think that, at the airport, she probably also remembered the fact that he only got into the business because he wanted to be with her. That kind of guilt, combined with the actual love she once had for him, has to be there.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Late, but I have to weigh in on the Sawyer love. Yes he's a jackhole (to quote cleolinda), but I think it's telling that he comes down on the side of good by springing into action with Sayid to pull Jin and Michael apart. He did try to end the Marshall's suffering, and that he bumbled it makes him vulnerable and more human. Plus, very very pretty, with the blowing blond hair and the blue eyes and the dimples... Um, yes.

The actress playing Sun is just incredibly expressive. I almost hate to have her speak English because she's been so readable without it.

And Dom got a few really nice lines this episode, and he's holding the screen very well against veterans like O'Quinn and Fox. If he's as wee a man as we've speculated, then it must be largely a shortish cast, because in long shots he's Kate's height, and nearly Jack's.

I love this show!

Bag the crypto. Say what is on your mind.

I googled. Two sources have Dominic Monaghan at 5'7". Fox shows up in two places as 6' 2".

ION: Based on no evidence beyond the way Kate and Sawyer interacted during the beach versus cave conversation, I think I am joining the Four Years! Tinfoil Hat Brigade. Those two know each other.

Note to self: Never read cleolinda at work.

...and then an anvil falls out of the sky with KATE + JACK 4EVAR painted on it and crushes one of the extras. Fortunately, it's just an extra, so we don't care.
