So the OC has your non-porous plots?
Relatively speaking, yeah. And that's saying something.

[NAFDA] This is where we talk about the show! Anything that's aired in the US (including promos) is fair game. No spoilers though -- if you post one by accident, an admin will delete it.

Are we supposed to be voting for overall ludicrosity, or deviations from the show's average?
I think we have to judge by the latter. If not, how could anything else compete with any given episode of Charmed? This is a show where people pay Alyssa Milano's character to write an advice for the lovelorn column. (For those lucky souls who have never watched, her character has dated Nick Lachey and been married to the Devil in seasons past. Compared to her, Buffy has good luck with romantic relationships.)
How does either rate against a) random attack by mountain lion or b) sudden amnesia by presumed death of daughter?
Or, you know, shaking off heroin withdrawl in an hour. And I think "Spawn working at CTU" trumps "Spawn not eaten by cougar" for ludicrousness.
By the way, anyone see the Six Feet Under where the opening death was a jogger getting eaten by a cougar? It totally made me flash on 24 and wonder why they couldn't have gone that way.
Heh, and I just realized that once they moved 24 to Monday, Spawn was out of the picture. So you no longer could say "Spawn's in trouble; must be Tuesday."
TVShowsonDVD has the following item:
One of our readers, who only identified himself as "Michael", tipped us off overnight to [...] The Lost Chronicles : The Official Companion Book. 176 pages long, it ships on September 28th from Hyperion Books. [... It] also "comes with an exclusive hour-long DVD containing unaired scenes from the show"! With the use of the word "exclusive", it sounds like these scenes will not necessarily be among those included on the season set's extras. If so, then it seems like this might be something that will be a must-have item to accompany the 9/6 release of Lost - The Complete 1st Season.
Amazon's page is here.
Who wants to bet that these "exclusive" scenes show up on an "exclusive" one-hour TV special promoting the second season?
Now I need to know which disks have the specialest features on them, so I can just get those. I want to see the auditions.
I just saw Sawyer in an old ep of CSI. I was typing, heard the voice, looked up, and said: "WTF? Wow."
The ep is: "Assume Nothing."
When we were on vacation in Glasgow, the path we took to the light rail went past a promo poster for Lost. Basically a shot of all the characters (except Sun and Jin, oddly enough) dressed and made up like in the Channel 4 promo.
Ooh. DDK is in "The Cave." I'm so going to see it now.
From IMDB:
Lost star Ian Somerhalder is furious he was slammed as homophobic when he decided his famous gay kiss in The Rules Of Attraction would be his last. The 26-year-old hunk nearly lost a lot of friends as a result of the public reaction to his remark, although he insists his words had been spectacularly misconstrued. He says, "It's not me who can't handle it, it's the audience. Seann William Scott didn't get all of the backlash that I received when he did just the same in American Pie 2. It was completely unjustified - fans and outraged men saying that I was making anti-gay remarks. I wasn't and those very close to me who are gay were visibly upset. I'd never make a disrespectful remark about anyone, especially in public, about one's sexual preference."
Note to Ian Somerhalder's hypothetical gay friends: Listen to his commentary track on the Rules of Attraction CD to hear his take on kissing men in his own words. You may want to save time by having effigies and lighter fluid at the ready.
