"There are two sorts of people in the world: those who believe Joss Whedon is a genius and those who are wrong." - Connie Ogle, Miami Herald

An easter egg laden site at [link] has just popped up. Eventually, it ties into [link] where you can sign up for an ABC mailing list and view a message board.

Conservative, n. A statesman who is enamored of existing evils, as distinguished from the Liberal, who wishes to replace them with others. -Bierce

Does anyone else feel that the others are infected in a way similar to Locke's faith?

That they are doing the island's bidding, and Locke was grabbed by underground Mechasaur because Jack has decided that Locke is dangerous. Mechasaur delivers Locke to the others, and gives Walt a friendly face, a (somewhat implausible) reason to stay once the others grab him.

If the island has a master, then he might place a boat and some fuel in the hands of his followers. It looked small enough to have been the ship's boat from Delenn's expedition.

Captain Deliverance seemed willing to just ask for the boy, and quite good-humored about the whole crash/stranded thing. If Locke spent ten years out in the woods, I think he would grab a kid for "fate".

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

On Kimmel last night Harold Perrineau and Jorge Garcia repeatedly referred to the people on the boat as "the Others."

Are you sure they were referring to "the Others" and not "the others"?

All is well that ends in pizza.

AnthonyDe also asked why the black smoke, i.e. why would the Others make it known they were coming? Which is a good fucking question. Unless it's something as simple as a marker *for* the Others, i.e. we're heading out in the Incredibly! Convenient! Boat, we'll make a fire on the beach, and we'll know where to land when we get back.

The more I think about it, of course, the more the Others are bothering me. Because, hell, they had guns, and whatever was in that bottle that blew up the raft. They couldn't have stormed the beach and taken Walt whenever they wanted? Especially since every night, most people were sleeping?

Lets see.

They have at least one advantage: the boat. They can come by sea. That's probably how they got Scott (engine off). Coming through the jungle they can be tracked. So they've been watching. Maybe even sending prople in to help with the boat.

Waiting. Waiting for their chance to get Walt.

The fire? Maybe it was actually a means by which to spook the raft crew into running scared.

"Perfect." Says the leader of the great unwashed deliverence rejects, "We have them now. He will be ours."

And they did. And they do.

Did anyone notice that Hurley sped by a group of cheerleaders with the numbers on their sweaters?

Oh, and apparently the Redemption Theme from The Shawshank redemption was playing at some point?

A One that isn't cold, is scarcely A One at all.

Best theory stolen from AICN Talkbacks: "Walt was controlling Hurley with his Gameboy."

Are you sure they were referring to "the Others" and not "the others"?

Yeah because Kimmel was like "but what did we really learned" and they said "you know who the Others are now."

Ever fired your gun in the air and yelled, 'Aaaaaaah?'

I found this linked on TWoP. Don't know if it's been posted here yet but for those who love Sawyer...

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

HA! I like this theory.

they said "you know who the Others are now."

Not really. But we do know that they exist as more than just voices.

Maybe, in an as-yet-unshown scene, Hurley gave Walt the Gameboy.
