Seeing that big ship stranded in the middle of the jungle made me think of both Fitzcarraldo and something I saw on a PBS documentary about Krakatoa. The tsunami caused by Krakatoa's volcanic eruption back in 1883 caused a ship on one island to be carried two miles inland, where it finally rusted away a hundred years later.
Lost: OMGWTF POLAR BEAR
[NAFDA] This is where we talk about the show! Anything that's aired in the US (including promos) is fair game. No spoilers though -- if you post one by accident, an admin will delete it.
The Inside has the crappiest lead-ins. Feh.
was Rousseau talking about the "shadow territories?" I got a very Delenn vibe off her with that remark.
I really like the actress who plays Rousseau. She is incredibly charismatic, plays a lot of strength in the character's crazy, and it is such a pleasure to see a woman on TV who looks her actual age.
I think she mostly looks her age because she has to be unkempt and haggard for this character. Mira can probably easily shave off 10 years with non-exceptional makeup and hairstyling.

I turned on my CC for this scene--apparently, when she saw that vine/branch/whatever, she said (in French) "The Dark Territory," which Jack helpfully translated for us. My question is was this were The Others supposed to come from, or just where the Black Rock is located?
I agree, Matt, and she's a beautiful woman, but I just love that she is not all botoxed up. I have a friend in production who tells me the new thing is actresses in their 20s getting botox so wrinkles won't "have a chance" to form. Immobile foreheads and upper lips are becoming sadly common.

The whole botox thing is getting out of hand. I saw a commercial (again) for it last night and two things stuck out at me.
1) It's botulism! From wikipedia:
Botulism is a rare but serious paralytic illness caused by a nerve toxin, botulin, that is produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum.
2) It's a toxin!
Botulin is the most potent known toxin, blocking nerve function and leading to respiratory and musculoskeletal paralysis.
The immobile-cardboard-no-wrinkles thing is bad! (The form of botulin they inject is a "safe" amount, but it's still unnerving.
According to a commercial I saw, Botox helps you fit into jeans and find new shoes.

I would think it would be worse for actors, since they rely on their faces to convey expressions.
