And Kaylee, what the hell's goin' on in the engine room? Were there monkeys? Some terrifying space monkeys maybe got loose?

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

However, it just occurred to me that for the two-hour episode, they might hit everyone's back stories a little. Hmm. Off to the spoiler thread to see if anyone's delineated whose episodes the next few are...

There's also the fact that there was some pretty major league police pursuit almost instantaneously after Kate made a break for it. That says to me that whatever she did in the past was bad enough that they either had a huge stakeout around her mom or the mere mention of her name got the kind of response normally reserved for the Blues Brothers. That coupled with her mother's horrified reaction makes me hope it will still be something good and Bond villain-ish.

Why isn't Sun mad at Kate for suggesting that Sun poison Jin after she found out it also allowed Kate to get a place on the raft that she needed so badly?

I think Sun might be the last person on that island to pass judgement on someone for having an urgent need to run away.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

She did say she was married. I assume not to Tom.

I wonder why she called her mom, "Dinah" when she was talking to Tom. Also, who sent her the letter with money to Somebody Hart at some hotel.

But if her backstory is gonna be all lame explanations of why she's not really that bad, I'd rather not know.

Our wings are not tired.

She said she was, in the "have you ever" game with Sawyer.

That's what I thought. Ever the optimist I'm going to believe that she has badassness at her core. Sawyer believed her when she said she would be on the boat, and so did I.

"Don't think of yourself as an organic pain collector racing towards oblivion." Dogbert to Dilbert

Of course, I'd prefer a bad to the bone Kate, but misunderstood is more likely.

I don't want Kate to be a psycho killer, but I did want her to have done genuinely, seriously bad shit. Why can't we have a non-woobieriffic character on the show? Just one?

These express my sentiments, too. For some reason, I really want Kate to have blood on her hands - I guess I'll hold out hope that her original crime will provide that.

I was able to capture the promo, so the breakdown will come tonight. Unfortunately, it didn't look too revealing (but then again, that way it won't be misleading). I did notice that there was no narrator on the promo.

I keep getting psyched out by the promos showing someone getting sick. First Sawyer, then Michael. I keep waiting for that shoe to drop, and they keep holding it back. They are probably holding it back for season 3.

All is well that ends in pizza.

I know people who refer to their parents by their first names. I personally feel "Mom" and "Dad" are titles my parents earned, and use them. My late brother Don apparently felt otherwise, and called them "Don" and "Mary."

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Even if the someone helped convince her to poison her husband?

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

My brothers and I call my Mom "Mom" to her face, but Sue (or various nicknames, such as Goatly, Nelly or Mothra) to each other.

She didn't seem to have twisted Sun's arm. I think Sun would be feeling enough (warranted) guilt to avoid needing someone else to blame. Also, it is possible Kate might have made a confession like "Hey, I might benefit from it too" at the time.

Sure I went over to the Dark Side, but just to pick up a few things.

Unfortunately, it didn't look too revealing (but then again, that way it won't be misleading). I did notice that there was no narrator on the promo.

I didn't mind that much because then we're not set up for a Jack/Sawyer cage-match that never pans out and fans become disappointed. Misleading promos irk (intentional or not).

I was surprised to see that there was no "Previously on Lost" narration.
