I don't think anything that happened on the island shows Locke had been paralyzed. The narrator would have had to tell us. Although it is damn important in showing the magic island factor.
I got no excuse for them leaving out OMGWTF POLAR BEAR or the burning boat.
Did they show the Kate Wanted poster, or anything that showed her criminal past. Any shots of the dying marshall? I was somewhat distracted in the beginning.
They showed Kate in handcuffs and the marshal getting hit hard in the head by a suitcase.
For newbies, seeing Sayid get hit over the head would have been another important development, but oh well.

If you're a die hard fan who could answer most trivia questions - not neccessary. It covered the major plot points on the island itself, so you're not going to pick up on anything new.
