but they are pretty good about slipping in the back story without being contrived about it
Well...I'd say they're pretty good at slipping in exposition while being completely contrived about it, but in an entertaining enough way that the audience rolls our eyes and accepts it. Shamelessly shoehorned exposition is part of the show's charm.
Man, after what everyone says the radio message was that Boone heard, I have this horrible feeling we're going to get a JACOB'S LADDER revelation here, where the people who died in the crash/on the island were the ones ready to go on.
If Danny Aiello shows up as a chiropractor, run.
TVG: Sounds fun. What kind of music do you play? Kim: I like a lot of alternative rock from the '80s and '90s. I grew up on the Cure, the Smiths, New Order and R.E.M. But because we all play acoustic guitar, we all know the folk songs from the '70s. I was playing Crosby, Stills and Nash with Terry on set. Naveen is like a human jukebox — if you ask him to play any song, he'll play it for you. If you know the lyrics, you've got a band. And somebody goes up a notch on the imaginary boyfriend list.
If you know the lyrics, you've got a band.
Me! Me! I want a band!
I'm wondering about the radio, myself. Will Locke tell Sayid that he and Boone found a working radio, and got an answer? (Even with the plane in pieces, with his TV-enhanced MacGuyver skillz, I'm sure Sayid could fix it.) Or will be keep it secret in order to protect the hatch's confidentiality?
Does Locke know Boone got the radio to work?
Good lord my memory is bad.
Does Locke know Boone got the radio to work?
Not unless he heard Boone talking into the radio. (I think) Boone was unconscious and would have been unable to tell Locke.
Does Locke know Boone got the radio to work?
Oh, good point. I'd assumed he heard that conversation, but maybe not.
OK, pardon me while I hijack the thread for a sec, because I missed any Natter discussion of 24. Can I just say... !!! I figured that is where things were headed, but, uh, didn't think it'd happen so fast. Or at all. It was gut-punchy .
