This is definitely "work out your issues Island."

Dude. I totally called it being Walt who set the fire. Something about the way he reacted to Michael's saying he was going to build a new raft. Also Locke's speech was too dramatic - all the arm-waving, like "look over here!"

That ep was kickass. Not as good as last week but easily as good as House of the Rising Sun. Agree about DDK being a great actor - even though I didn't want to feel sorry for Jin, when he looked at the little girl crying after he beat up her dad, I couldn't help myself.

My biggest beef with Jin as a character is why didn't he run off with Sun when he had the chance? Surely he knew her father was going to ruin their life? Of course, it's easy for me to say in retrospect.

Also, if Jin really doesn't understand English, how the hell did he understand it when Sun said, "I was going to leave you" etc. in English??

Also, LordoftheFlies!Sawyer? Hottt.

I don't think he did understand Sun. I think that's why she said it in English.

Ooooh. Good call - makes it so much more interesting. But maybe he already put 2 & 2 together because why would she go to all the trouble to learn English AND keep it a secret from him if she wasn't plotting something like running away to make a new life in some English-speaking country?

The beach! Trombones of danger! THUD! Jin in the sand. "[MERCUTIO]! TAKE IT EASY!" Jack and Hurley are trying to mediate and Charlie runs out in his hoodie like the Unabassist.

Sayid and Shannon are eating some fruit and he's touching her hair and oh, vom. I am torn between thinking that this whole pairing is very cute and thinking that I'd like to beat Snicker Bitch to death with her own bottle of Hawaiian Tropic.

I despise Shannon/Sayid more and more.

I didn't think that the discman crapping out was funny. I actually thought it was very sad. And a lovely segue into the shedding wrap.

Bloody Jin was cute. Jin with sunglasses on ... I gotta go to lost-media and see if I can get that for my bunk site.

We open on a long shot of Hurley trudging along the shore.

Fade to black, then fade in on the camp. We see many people walking around. Boone strides in the foreground, Jack and Charlie are in the center, and others are further back, standing by some trees. Jack and Charlie are facing the camera as they walk from left to right.

Jack: "Sayid! You ready?"

Switch angles to from behind Sayid as he strides through the camp. Locke is in the middle distance, tending a fire. Sawyer is in the far distance, walking in the direction that Sayid is walking towards (presumable out of the camp). Sayid turns and looks towards the camera as he walks.

Narrator: A search to uncover the mysteries of the island...

Cut to a scene of Hurley and Charlie hacking their way through the jungle.

Fade to a shot of Sayid and Jack standing in the jungle, with Sayid looking alert, and Jack looking at him, waiting.

Cut to a shot of Charlie standing with his back to the jungle, standing near a tree stump, as he looks out.

Charlie: "Guys, you should come see this."

Cut to Sayid walking up in the jungle, while Jack is reaching into his backpack to get something out of it.

Fade to black, then fade in on Sayid now standing beside Charlie, and Hurley just coming up to them.

Sayid (VO): "This poses somewhat of a problem."

Reverse to reveal a rickety wooden bridge crossing a ravine. One rope railing is on the left side.

Hurley: "Woah."

Cut to a close up of Charlie as he starts forward to cross the bridge.

Narrator: ...tuns into a desperate attempt to stay alive.

Switch to an angle from below the bridge, as we see Charlie carefully picking his way accross.

Pull further down the ravine to see that Charlie is about at the middle of the bridge. The separation between the wooden slats is very evident.

Cut to a close up from just under the bridge, as we see Charlie's feet as they step onto different planks.

Sayid (OS): "Don't move!"

Cut to a shot of the bridge snapping in half.

Cut to a close up of Jack as he shouts.

Jack: "CHARLIE!"

We see Charlie diving through the end "gate" of the bridge. Hurley tries to catch him.

Cut to another close up of Jack shouting.

Jack: "Hurley, stay put!"

Switch to a shot of Hurley standing in the jungle. He has his head wrapped in a makeshift bandanna. He is looking intently upwards, then lowers his eyes and ducks down.

Cut to a close up of Sayid, screaming.

Sayid (OS): "Down!"

We see a close up of a bunch of wooden spikes swinging across the screen.

Pull back to see Huley diving to the ground as a huge timber covered with spikes comes swinging down on ropes from above.

Cut to a close up of someone's leg breaking a tripwire.

Cut to a close up of Sayid shouting.

Sayid: "JACK!"

Pull back from behind Sayid, as we see Jack standing in front of him. Jack turns around to look at Sayid. In the distance, we can see the mountains, but that view is quickly obscured by the vast explosion that goes off.

Fade to white, then fade in on Hurley, standing alone in the jungle.

Hurley (whispering): "Is someone shooting at us?"

Fade to black, then fade in on Hurley motoring through the jungel as though he is being chased.

Cut to a close up of Hurley as he pulls up short, then we hear a clacking noise, and someone shoves a rifle or shotgun close to Hurley's face.

Hurley: "Ohhh!"

Fade to black, then cue the Lost logo.

Narrator: An all-new Lost, next Wednesday at 8, 7 Central, only on ABC.

It's too late for me to form coherent thoughts, but two things spring to mind:

1. When Jin was beating up the Environment director, I really felt DDK putting such emotion into the scenes. I felt that he was feeling his humanity slip away.

2. In the promo, the bridge only reminds me of the bridge of death from Holy Grail. I'm going to be going through that routine all week, I fear.

The actor who played Sun's father? Sucked.

Not only that, but I got the impression that all of his dialogue was ADRed after the fact.

Thought that this episode was definitely better than the last few have been, and a good companion piece to "House of the Rising Sun."

I want Hurley to make the joke. With the accent "What is yer name? What is yer quest?" And then Charlie to come back with "No. It's not Monty Python. It's Indiana Jones!"

Jin's Dad was a lox, according to the local translator.

I admit, when Jin did that extra-long pause when asked about his dad, I went 'oh, god, another member of the Daddy Issues Island Club.' But then it turned out his father rocked! And Jin knew he rocked!
