The above should be spoiler free. I read it.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Maybe Vincent rescued her. He was out there romping around on his own, and only showed up after Claire was back.

Sure I went over to the Dark Side, but just to pick up a few things.

I'm getting an error message with that link.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

I did wonder, if Ethan could pick off the Castaways one by one pretty much at will, why he had to have Charlie bring him Claire instead of just snatching her again himself.

I think to keep her from making others aware she was being taken, he'd have to at the very least hurt her (and possibly the baby) enough to keep her quiet, and I got the distinct feeling he didn't want to chance her (or at least the baby) being harmed, although chasing her around the forest in the rain isn't exactly the greatest pre-natal care either.

"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

Also, Claire's got a choice set of lungs on her. Scott turned out not to be much of a screamer.

I wish it had been someone besides SuperJack that brought Ethan down

Well, FWIW, Jack had something to prove, having previously been beat down but good (the last time it rained). (What is with fights in the rain? Too much MTV??) I don't think I want him as my tactician, however.

Conservative, n. A statesman who is enamored of existing evils, as distinguished from the Liberal, who wishes to replace them with others. -Bierce

If Ethan is/was Rosseau's child, how will she react to his death? I am hoping for Fury-penned retribution antics.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Ethan seemed too old to be Rousseau's child, although IIRC, we don't know how old "Alex" was when Rousseau's boat landed on Crazy Island.

I do believe in killing the messenger, you know why? Because it sends a message. ~ Damon Salvatore

Aw tiggy, poor you. You've been Abramed.

heh. so you don't think it means anything? or is that too Jossian of me to think?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Don't search for meaning, tiggy. Relish it when you get it, accept it into your life, but DON'T DEPEND ON IT. That way lies madness, in the realm of the JJ.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Well, that's the thing. Ethan seemed to have forgotten about the others. Or they about him. It just seems really cockamamie for him to have gone off to try to get Claire without a little backup.

Oh, and I thought there was going to be some payoff from "And I want you to bring her to me." Was that just psychological stuff for Charlie? Because Charlie didn't bring her to Ethan, and Ethan still went after her. Just seemed off to me.
