Naveen was reasonably pretty before the whole "I kill, torture, devise, and now I'm wet" thing. That just makes me helpless.
You forgot the wet wife beater, to show off the wet arms.
I'll be in my bunk.
[NAFDA] This is where we talk about the show! Anything that's aired in the US (including promos) is fair game. No spoilers though -- if you post one by accident, an admin will delete it.

Am I crazy, or is it actually a bit unlikely that the first 6 people you point to all know how to handle a handgun? I mean, Locke has the survivalist thing, and Sayid's a soldier. They're given.
But, like, Charlie is from England, where even cops don't get guns most of the time. How did he not fire the gun once into Ethan and five times into the air, and then pee his pants? Or better yet, try to fire and then realize the gun had a safety lock or something.
Looking around me, I don't know many people who could pick up a handgun without holding it awkwardly. (I know a couple of people who've had rifles, but none to my knowledge own or have ever owned or maybe have ever touched a handgun.) Then again, I wasn't raised in an environment/culture where guns are common, so maybe most people are comfortable and capable with a handgun.

That's why I wasn't surprised that Jack didn't give a gun to Kate. However, of the six, Locke, Sawyer, Jack (by self-selection), and Sayid are hardly random. We know Kate's niftier with guns than your average bear.
Charlie's the only truly wild card -- it's not about the first 6 at all.
Bang! Bang, BOOM! Bangety-boom, rattatatat. BOOM!
Ho! HaHa! Guard! Turn! Parry! Dodge! Spin! Ha! Thrust! Wham! Sproing!
Wasn't Charlie at fairly close range?
I'm willing to hand wave Charlie. As for the 6 people being able to handle a gun --they weren't just random. Kate it's been shown knows how to use a gun. Sawyer is suspect, but maybe he figured if he got close range or something. Jack -- maybe he goes to the shooting range to work off stress (I will speak from experience that my one time at the range was fun).
I really don't get the Locke-oost. Partly because I don't find him physically appealing and second he's just way too creepywierd cross the street to avoid.
I guess I am asking 2 questions, then. (1) What would have happened if Jack hadn't deemed himself gun-capable? and (2) Where did Charlie get that really good aim and lack of nerves around a dangerous tool he's probably hardly ever seen in real life?
#1 is one of those "well, we wrote it this way because it was more convenient, and there's no reason not to" but I am curious. (There are also questions like, why was Jack hiding the weapons? Would they be useful in hunting? etc. etc.)
#2 is more of a "hey waitaminnit" question.
Jin is quite attractive, but that's just because DDK is very pretty.
Jack is Blandy McBlandcakes. Also, he looks puffy.
Locke is very attractive.
Boone is pretty, but not attractive.
Sayid's okay, I guess.
Sawyer is meh.
Walt's dad is hot.
The women are more in the Blandy McBlandjackcakes category than not.

Because he doesn't trust people? 100 9mm rounds wouldn't be that useful in hunting, not for long enough.
Good aim I do question on Charlie's part (he wasn't that close).
Lack of nerves? Having the world fall away so that all he can see is the man who killed him and stole his preggo girlfriend? Leaving him solid in the knowledge he has to kill him or be doomed to be useless guy? Perhaps feeling that sense of omnipotence that guns can give?
Totally plausible. Charlie stalked them, probably looking for a way to kill Ethan the whole time. There was no moment of realising "Hey, he's just a guy, what right do I have?" and I buy that entire. I don't question it at all.
Yeah, it wasn't that he fired the gun, it's that he fired five quick shots in succession, and every one hit Ethan in the chest. Unless he's used a handgun before (he's a rock star, so ya never know), he's damn lucky that he didn't kneecap somebody else with the later shots.
Eh. I can handwave Charlie as being right there on the spot. Jack gets a gun because he's Captain Hero Doctor Jack. The marshall might not be all that impressed with Sawyer, but as he pointed out, there's an ex-polar bear out there who may think otherwise.
Am I the only one who didn't think Kate's lack-o'-gun was an oversight? Because I thought that that was actually part of Sawyer's game - picking up that for some reason Kate wasnt' getting one, and fucking with Jack by giving her one.
