Or maybe they manifested from the ether, when Send 'Em to the Cornfield Kid wished it.
Lost: OMGWTF POLAR BEAR
[NAFDA] This is where we talk about the show! Anything that's aired in the US (including promos) is fair game. No spoilers though -- if you post one by accident, an admin will delete it.
Are there any bears even vaguely native to that presumed geography?
I mean, if Danielle's talking about Kodiak bears, is that any less whacked? Writer not named JJ Ockham, but I'd pretty much figured that all the bears were polar, until we get evidence of menagerie-type infestations.

Nope, just as whacked.
The bird incident would seem to lend credence to the idea that the polar bears are the bears Danielle mentioned, and that Walt is unknowingly summoning them, rather than his unknowingly creating them out of thin air. But she didn't say so.
Huh. Seems like Evangeline Lilly and Dominic Monaghan really are a couple after all. Here's hoping Lilly has really good security people.
Is it the fact that I despise Somerhalder that's making me take exception to his complaint that there are no co-stars available for dating? Or does that read as elitist and dismissive of other women on the crew and in the general locale to others as well?

Not just you, though I'm sure your despise helps. It struck me too. Although you've kind of imbued your despise upon me. I think if it were someone you liked more, it would read more playful and jokey. I mean, the notion that he has to date a co-star is elitist, for sure, but it's also somewhat expected, and he could be poking fun at it. If you didn't hate him.

Eh, I think he's trying for jocular and playful. It's just he never seems to come off well in interviews. He's either kind of self-absorbed or very poor at expressing himself.
Well, in general the actors-dating-actors thing is something I understand, yet roll my eyes at.
Stamos talking about how open he is to "real girls" with their "fresh, unjaded outlook" skeeved me more, frankly.
I do think IS is kidding, but eh.
Although, maybe he is just dating within his own age group, and is refreshed to see faces not made of plastic. After a while, I can imagine a man being pleased to see real, live wrinkles.
Somerhalder as Boone--well, it strikes me pretty much as typecasting.
And I just had a thought. The bird that smashed into the window--Walt was looking at a picture of a bird. The same kind of bird? And every time a polar bear has manifested, Walt's been looking at the picture of a polar bear. What if his power requires a visual cue to manifest?
