All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Did anyone else notice how long Sayid's fingernails are?

The cost of the box and the security provided would indicate that either the toy plane has more value than I'm originally inclined to think or that there was something else in the box that we don't know about yet.

Maybe the plane was made out of cocaine...

Yeah, I just watched that L&O episode the other day.

ewww no! And I'm so glad I didn't. Long nails on guys skeeve me massively. Would have bothered me more than the maggots they showed.

There's no way they'd make Boone gay. I think he's probably alienated enough folks with his insensitive remarks that making him gay might be offensive to some. I was glad to see that he didn't make a snide comment or distasteful face when Shannon asked him if Locke was his new boyfriend (or if he did they edited it out.)

But Boone, gay? No way.

Sure I went over to the Dark Side, but just to pick up a few things.

Did anyone else notice how long Sayid's fingernails are?

Yes. Gross.

The airplane was a pretty lousy payoff, and in no way justifies an elaborate bank robbing scheme. But considering on this show a man is willing to get brutally tortured for a kiss, I'm sure that's all it was, and I'm sure Kate knew about it too.

Or worse, JJ Abrams is doing a severe misdirect and the contents of the safety deposit box are diifferent from what's in the case. In which case, I feel more cheated.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

Consider the way that Shannon asked Boone if Locke was his boyfriend. The emphasis was all wrong for her to be mocking him for being gay. She was mocking him for choosing Locke.

FTR, I read that comment the same way that hayden did.

I like Boone. I don't love him, but I find him believable, and I'm looking forward to finding out more about his character, his family, and his motivations.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

He's whitebread. And self-righteous. And whiny. And constantly bitching

Yes.

at his sister. Who is, yes, not helping, but bitching at her? Won't fix that.

As a brother? He's not my first pick.

Oh, you mean Boone. I thought you were talking about Somerhalder. I don't like either of them. As far as the character's concerned,

someone who wants to help so that he will be seen as helping, not because he's a getting-things-done kind of guy. He's hung up on his relative (lack of) status in the castaway hierarchy, and his decisions are driven by that, rather than any kind of purer altruism or even recognizeable self-interest (like Sawyer exhibits).

This is very perceptive, and I agree completely.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

I think, if I were going to apply any meaning to anything, that he's trying to explain to his sister why she should help.

Altruism will not appeal to her, she needs to understand that people won't continue to feed and shelter her just because she's sitting there looking purty. If she continues to be useless, she won't be fed. She needs to pitch in, to be useful, in order to receive her daily bread, er, swine.
