Kaylee: Is that him? Mal: That's the buffet table. Kaylee: Well how can we be sure, unless we question it?

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Is it at all possible that Kate killed her father? That's the thing that I thought at the end of the episode.

[insert something funny here]

Are we 100% certain that the toy airplane was what was in the safety deposit box?

It seems we are meant to assume that, but its not neccesarily so.

OT: Just watched Alias. Clever start to the season.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I thought Shannon/Sayid was wrong, and a waste of my Republican guard. And I thought Boone was right.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

the island's resident smart guy was relying on Shannon for help on an important project instead of him.

Resident smart, HAWT guy. Just sayin'.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Are we 100% certain that the toy airplane was what was in the safety deposit box?

I wasn't sure - in the box, the envelope didn't look as bulky as it did coming out of the suitcase. But I didn't go back to double check, so it could be in my mind.

Conservative, n. A statesman who is enamored of existing evils, as distinguished from the Liberal, who wishes to replace them with others. -Bierce

I was hoping that she did not know the envelope contents when she went after the bank. I really want her to have killed someone over his super-secret safe deposit box, and it turns out he just had some precious childhood toy in there.

Wishful thinking is all my names.

I was just about to post something like this. Having never watched ALIAS, is JJ big with the honkin' misdirect? Because that seems to be his rep.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I do think there's definitely more to Kate's story.

The model plane was in an envelope marked "Personal Effects" which makes me think that the marsall took it from her when he caught her, so she's been carrying it around with her while she fled. Right?

I'm kinda liking Shannon/Sayid. She clearly needs someone to tell her that she can do things if she just tries (and look, she can! She figured out what the notes were! Not her fault they were not the helpful guides to teh equations that Sayid was hoping they were), and he's obviously going to go through all the women and half the men on the island eventually, why not start with the leggy blond with self-esteem issues?

What is even happening?

I wondered if maybe the plane wasn't her child's, and that she somehow was responsible for the death of her own child, therefore justifying (in her mind) her confession that she'd killed him.

I am not spoiled at all, for what it's worth, because I can't keep up with the show, never mind the spoilers.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Didn't she refer to him as "the man she loved?" That doesn't imply child to me, nor father, as was mentioned upthread.
