Oh crap. I posted my post in the wrong topic. Sorry.
'Life of the Party'
Lost: OMGWTF POLAR BEAR
[NAFDA] This is where we talk about the show! Anything that's aired in the US (including promos) is fair game. No spoilers though -- if you post one by accident, an admin will delete it.
It falls apart in a major way with Kate.
I think that part of the fun with Lost is going to be the way in which the characters will start to fill the typical roles but will then wind up filling other roles or subverting those expectations in other ways.
What I love about this show is that even though certain plot points within an episode might be predictable, the show as a whole is (so far) not, much like BtVS was throughout major portions of its run.
For me, the OMG!Lockewasinawheelchair!!WTF!!! reveal had a similar impact as the revelation that Angel was a vampire. A character was not who or what he seemed to be, and aside from just being surprising, the revelation itself is likely to have repercussions throughout the run of the show.
What I'm now waiting for is the Lost equivalent of Angel becoming Angelus, or Angelus snapping Jenny's neck. I'm not saying that analogous events will happen, merely that Lost has great HSQ potential of the good kind. I just hope it lives up to that potential.
I find it humorous that the Bigwig parallel has no hair.
Sawyer? He has hair. Locke's the Fiver parallel.
X-posted from Natter, 'cause nobody there wants to talk TV right now
Today I am being a drunk and watching television shows in English. This led to me thinking that both Lost and Desperate Housewives are the sort of shows that used to be on Fox and the WB, and now that these are on Big Three 'nets, they are enjoying monster ratings. There is something a little hopeful in that thought.
ION: I can't go Sawyer for Bigwig. DDK will be Bigwig. I got five bux says so.
I think Sayid is Bigwig.
I believe that's Dom Monaghan's new tattoo, and he asked JJ to let him show it off on the show.
Whether it's actually Dom's tattoo or not, the producers has said that nothing is shown to us by accident, and I think they were trying to tell us something.
The people on the island will have to open their eyes, or they will get an easy life, leading to a quick, easy death.
Sail, I went and looked at the TV Guide spoilers. I would rather not have known the last two.
Deena, did you mean the last two in the second post (9 & 10)? Because those two seemed pretty innocuous and/or obvious to me.
If you were talking about the last two in the first post (7 & 8), which were pretty spoilery, or so it seemed, don't read too much into 7, it was entirely speculation, and said as much in the "spoiler" itself.
I think Sayid is Bigwig.
Deena, there was some support for that at TWoP as well. I could see it, but as of now, he's got the technical proficiency to be one of the Blacks. But I definitely see where you're coming from. Sawyer or Sayid could be Bigwig.
DDK will be Bigwig. I got five bux says so.
That's a new one. He's got the aggressiveness thing going for him. But Sayid has more potential for the Noble Sacrifice. What I forgot about Bigwig is he's not a bad guy, in the end. Which may prove true for Sawyer as well.
I think Sayid is Bigwig.
Dude! Sayid is Mr. Fixit, the Gilligan's Island Professor, with sex appeal.
The only "spoiler" I quit reading was the one about Sun and Jin as it was about an upcoming episode. Everything else was either stuff we've speculated about ourselves, or the producers just giving us some background on what they were trying to achieve. There's still a heck of a lot we don't know.

Jack snapping Uber-Bitch's neck. I could get into that.
