A ghost? What's the deal? Is every frat on this campus haunted? And if so, why do people keep coming to these parties, cause it's not the snacks.

Lost: OMGWTF POLAR BEAR

[NAFDA] This is where we talk about the show! Anything that's aired in the US (including promos) is fair game. No spoilers though -- if you post one by accident, an admin will delete it.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Sayid said he was responsible for Nadia's death.

He also told Danielle he had held on to the hope that she was still alive, so I'm guessing he's just assuming she didn't get away at this point.

Not that I wouldn't love to be proven wrong.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I notice that Rousseau mentioned the Black Rock -- so kudos to the French translation people, because that is evidently a landmark/plot point....

The status is NOT quo.

Hee! laughed hard enough I had to explain myself. That was a fearsome movie (in more ways than one), wasn't it?

Oh so scary. I can't even bring myself to rewatch as an adult to laugh scornfully and mock the pitiful special effects.

It will always stand alongside Watership Down as "movies I never should have seen as a child".

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

Have we seen anything resembling a black rock yet? On the beach or from it? In the jungle? Black rock makes me think meteorite. Meteorites have been worshipped in more than a few cultures.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Volcanic sand and rocks are black, too.

Conservative, n. A statesman who is enamored of existing evils, as distinguished from the Liberal, who wishes to replace them with others. -Bierce

I was assuming that the rock was where the ship ran aground. Might explain the cable - it was slack enough at the shore for Sayid to pick up, so maybe it is/was a swimming guide.

Have we seen a volcano yet, then? Hills that might be of volcanic origin, I'd guess, but well covered in foliage, so probably hundreds of years since it was active. And the beach is white. Probably coral sand.

aka "The artist formerly known as Corwood Industries."

My wife just reminded me that I guessed a circus had crashed on the island back when the polar bear showed up.

Edited because I can, occasionally, properly decline a verb.

I believe that we will take the non-sinking sheep of love and will go far away to the ocean...

The Ethan guy (that Locke was hunting with) at first reminded me of the actor that played Holden the vampire in "Conversations With Dead People", and I got all excited. Then he didn't look like him at all, but those scenes were a bit dark and grainy on my tv. Did anyone else get that vibe, though?

All is well that ends in pizza.

Oh! I was going to make a screencap of the map! I'll try later.
