Those "bottle rockets" were huge, btw.
Lost: OMGWTF POLAR BEAR
[NAFDA] This is where we talk about the show! Anything that's aired in the US (including promos) is fair game. No spoilers though -- if you post one by accident, an admin will delete it.
I still hate the Medley Exit, but I have to ask: did anyone identify the song or the singer?
eta: The song was "I Shall Not Walk Alone," by Ben Harper and Blind Boys of Alabama.
I was idly LJ surfing, and just came across this Watch'n'Post style entry of an unapologetically drooly fangirl, which made me laugh and laugh. The bits about the hazard of watching the show with her dad are particularly priceless.
(The second part of the review is about Smallville, in case anyone is into the show/hasn't seen it yet.)
Uh, Locke, I watch tv and I don't know how to improvise a slow fuse.
Oh, wait, now I do. Thanks.
I missed the watch and post, but this is exactly what I said to my friends at home at the time, Zenkitty.
Also, not so thrilled with this ep. I loved the Charlie/Claire bit, and thank goodness that Sawyer didn't burn the letter, 'cause that would have been too hokey. Sayid leaving redeemed it a little, because it's about time someone explored the coast (although I hope he comes back soon, 'cause Naveen=yummy). But why did no one even try asking Sawyer nicely for the medication? I mean, he has shown before that 'please' works when other things don't. I can understand it not being the first resort, but I would have tried it before torture. Feh.
I'm sorry if someone else said all of this already. I may have skipped too much of the watch n post.

Well, my feelings on this is that 'please' works if you need to get your hands on a sweater because you're cold or your pet cat is choking up furballs so you need... whatever you might need to help flush it out of its system (if there is such a thing). Not that there are cats on the island. Probably.
But when a girl's life is at stake? Not so much with the politeness.
EDIT: Because "it's" and "its" does NOT mean the same thing. Go figure.
No, that's a good point.
I think the problem with "please" was that the first Sawyer knew about the inhalers was Boone going through his stash, without explanation, and it just escalated from that point.

Seems like you would find out pretty quick if please would word, and could always try the more time-consuming torture afterwards.

This is what happened. What bothers me is that Jack and Kate, and Sayid for that matter, each strike me as both smart enough and perceptive enough to realize that 'please' would be more likely to be effective with Sawyer than torture. Also, that trying it would be faster. It especially bothered me that Kate didn't try. IRC, she tried using please with Sawyer before, after non-effective begging, to good effect. I can't remember exactly when that happened, though, so I could be wrong on that one.
t Creates a comfy corner strewn with pillows, where everyone who thinks that Sawyer is off in the woods fondling his stash of inhalers and snickering is welcome.
That would be a twist. Twists are good. So are comfy pillows.
t plumps a pillow for libkitty
Does that copy of Watership Downs look like it has been in water, to anyone?
