I'm almost done with Asher Lev. It's taking me longer than the other Potok books, but that's probably due to not being able to spend as much concentrated time on it, and I'm still really enjoying it. Asher is an interesting character. He's not as sympathetic to me as some of Potok's other characters, but he's still very compelling.

The Buffista Book Club: the Harry Potter iteration
This thread is a focused discussion group. Please see the first post below for the current topic and upcoming book discussions. While natter will inevitably happen, we encourage you to treat this like a virtual book club and try to keep your posts in that spirit.
By consensus, this thread is reopened specifically to discuss Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. It will be closed again once that discussion has run its course.
***SPOILER ALERT***
In some ways, child!Asher reminds me of me as a kid. Well, the intensity, anyway. And the urge to do something the family didn't understand very much(writing, of course, in my case)
I had to force myself to put Asher Lev down last night. I'm only 100 pages in, but that man can write.
Finished Asher Lev!
It's going to be hard to wait for the discussion, especially since I'll be travelling for much of the early part. But I'll be here for the beginning, and will attempt keep myself in check until the 15th.

Psst, 13th.

I love him. Love.
Thanks Wolfram. I have a whole two more days!
I'd be finished with Asher Lev by now if I wasn't cheating with House of Sleep and S1 Farscape episodes. It's good to have one more weekend.
I'd like to post a reminder about the discussion date in Press and include our upcoming book's ( Small World ) discussion date as well. How does Monday, October 11 sound? Also, now is probably a good time to finalize the procedure for picking the next book.
I was digging through some books last weekend prior to dumping them all at goodwill and found a) the first book of a trilogy I haven't seen in forever and was thus unable to reread the other two books which I did have, and b)Asher Lev! Yay me with the timing.
I am seriously chomping at the bit to discuss this one. Didn't really have that with the last one.
