Well, we have movies 6 and 7 yet to go, what about things from the earlier books that have already been made into movies - what is missing from them that was later brought back in book 7? Not that they will show ALL the detail from book 7, but still.
The Buffista Book Club: the Harry Potter iteration
This thread is a focused discussion group. Please see the first post below for the current topic and upcoming book discussions. While natter will inevitably happen, we encourage you to treat this like a virtual book club and try to keep your posts in that spirit.
By consensus, this thread is reopened specifically to discuss Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. It will be closed again once that discussion has run its course.
***SPOILER ALERT***
The fifth movie didn't show them finding the locket at Grimmauld Place, did it?
The biggest thing - there was no SPEW. I don't even recall Hermione saying anything about Sirius's treatment of Kreacher to even hint at her not agreeing with the way other magical beings are treated. So what's gonna be the impetus for Hermione to kiss Ron in the the 7th movie?

There's another one.
I really miss all of the Marauders stuff in the movies, since that's one of my favorite aspects of the books.
Me, too. Me too, a lot.
I wish that Jo could have been standing over Steve Kloves and Michael Goldenburg's shoulders at times saying, "Nope. Gotta keep it. Gonna be important." I guess this is the problem with making the movies as the series is being written.
I'm not concerned. The movies have always been "Highlights from Harry Potter" anyway. They've not shown the least bit of concern about how the things link up.
Well, I think she does have input. There's probably a spreadsheet somewhere linking the books together, so if they cut something they have to also figure out how to fix everything it links to.
Or not, but I'm feeling generous today. I didn't know HOW they could get around Skeeter's animagosity, but it doesn't seem to have made the slightest bit of difference. They just also cut out the using-her-for-an-interview bit in the next movie.
She has a neat way of showing you very important things throughout the series, masquerading as odd bits of detail.
very Joss-like. But, then, Joss let me down in season 7 (Eye of Bojoxa, I'm looking at you)

I was told (by someone here) that she does pretty much exactly that.
