So much has happened. The Ravenclaws poke Sister Carro and Luna is happy they are pleased, which cracked me up. Brother Carro and Prof. McGonagall show up, Carro is rude and is put out of action. McGonagall leaps right into action on hearing that Harry is working on Dumbledore's instruction. I've always liked McGonagall.
Snape and McGonagall duel and Snape flees. If Snape is on the good side, and I suspect he is from various actions I commented on earlier, how long until he lets the good guys know. Maybe I'm wrong and Snape isn't on the good side, but then why didn't he go after Harry at Grimwald place and why the light punishment for stealing the sword? OTOH, that first bit of information on Harry's departure seemed too important if Snape is playing double agent. I'm still leaning toward good though because of Grimwald place.
Anyhow, the school gets ready to fight and the Diadem is still lost. The armor suits have been brought to life to defend the castle, which is awesome.
Back at Neville's refugee camp, lots of other people have arrived. Oliver Wood included. Wood is another of my favorite characters. If they just tell him Voldemort is planning to do away with Quidditch, this whole thing will be over pretty quick. There are the order members, of course. The Weasleys including Percy. It's great that Percy has come to his senses and made up with his family, I especially like how fast George puts it all in the past. Too bad it means Percy is a dead man.
Ginny has the expected argument against going home. I can't blame her either as literally everyone she cares about (excepting Aunt Muriel) is there. I don't expect her to actually stay in Neville's refugee camp as she said she would. Nobody tries to tell Luna to go since she is underage. I expect this means Luna still has a role to play. Ron and Hermione have taken off and I assume have had a brainwave about the location of the Diadem. If they actually meant a bathroom, there is only one bathroom of any note. Do they suspect Myrtle knows something? They know you need to speak parceltongue to get into the CoS, so it has to be Myrtle. Funny if Myrtle is the key to finding the Hogwarts Horcrux.
Voldemort has given his warning Vogon style and the evacuation has begun, though some remain to fight. That's roughly where I have left off. I'm not exactly sure why Harry is hanging out in the great hall instead of looking for the Diadem though.

hah! When this happened I totally thought they'd gone off to have some "private time" if you know what I mean.
I am now totally casting The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy with Harry Potter Characters.
Vogon style! BWAH!!
Oliver Wood going all wuxia on Voldemort to save Quidditch!

So much yes. LOVED this.
Gud's occasional "Too bad it means _____ is a dead man" comments are killing me.
Gud hasn't gotten to
the chairs
yet, has he? I like those even better than the armor.
So much is going on. McGonagall reminds Harry that he is supposed to be finding something and Harry takes off to find the diadem. He tracks down the ghost of Ravenclaw, which I didn't even think of, and finds out that the Diadem is indeed the Horcrux. Harry also remembers seeing the Diadem in the Room_of_Requirement.Hidden_Things_Room which I also wouldn't have thought of even though it was right there in book six.
Ron and Hermione show up after their trip to the CoS where they picked basilisk fangs and Hermione destroyed the cup. I would have thought the basilisk vemon would have dried up long ago, but it's a magical creature so I can accept that. They all head into Room_of_Requirement.Neville's_Refugee_Camp and run into Ginny, Gran, and Tonks. Ginny is all too happy to leave the room. Tonks takes off to find Lupin and Gran takes off to join the fight. Gran is so taking down Bellatrix which is awesome.
Harry, Ron, and Hermione go into the Room_of_Requirement.Hidden_Things_Room. Initially I wondered how Tom Riddle couldn't have realized that other people had hidden stuff in the room as well, but I can see him thinking the room also generated junk to hide the Diadem in. There's furniture and stuff in there which I doubt that loads of students are hiding, and there just seems to be way too much stuff to account for even generations of students. Only a handful of students would likely know about the room in any given year. Of course the furniture may be from Filch who I think knows about the room, but for him it is a place to get rid of junk. In any event, I can buy Tom being arrogant enough to think the other junk was generated just for him.
Ok, the events go on. Crab, Goyle, and Draco turn up and badly bungle an attempt to capture Harry. Crab lets loose the fiend fire and all the hidden junk goes away along with Crab. Pretty horrible way to go really. In and unexpected turn of events, it turns out that Crab destroyed the Horcrux. Just the snake left and if my suspicions are correct, Harry himself.
Meanwhile, Ginny is shooting spells out the window, Tonks takes off after Lupin, Aberforth is leading some students, and they have just run into Percy and Fred dueling with death eaters. I'm looking forward to my next commute.
Oh, Ron and Hermione also started to make out until Harry pointed out there was still a battle going on all around them. That had been coming for a very long time. Funny it was Ron worrying about evacuating the elves that finally got them over the hump though. Harry's exasperation was pretty funny as well.
Oh gods. I can't even stand it anymore. I wish Gud's commute was about 15 minutes longer.
