This is so cute. I just have to tag.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Awwww!! That's so sad.

I am now put into a position to find a fault with a fabulous book

A ten-year-old wrote that?

This is why I really hope she does get around to producing the Encyclopedia of Harry Potterverse that she mentioned as a possibility during an interview after HBP came out.

She's going to!!!

The encyclopedia would include back stories of characters she has already written but had to cut for the sake of narrative arc ("I've said before that Dean Thomas had a much more interesting history than ever appeared in the books"), as well as details about the characters who survive "Deathly Hallows," characters who continue to live on in Rowling’s mind in a clearly defined magical world.

Oh, there's some good shit in here:

“Mr. Weasley, he was the person who got a reprieve,” Rowling said. “When I sketched out the books, Mr. Weasley was due to die in Book Five.”

I'm really looking forward to going back now and rereading the entire series. I've read each book only once and so had forgotten half of the previous one each time a new one came out. I kind of didn't want to reread until I could have a full-out marathon, and now I can. Whee!

Welcome, Margaret! Please don't say that you're old at 21. I just realized that the freshmen I'll be teaching next year were born the year I graduated high school. Ack!

holy fuck. I do not like this at all. You can't kill Mr. Weasley!

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Mr. Weasley, he was the person who got a reprieve

Phew, I'm so glad.

Quick sidenote: Jilli, when ND and I were watching OotP a couple of weeks ago, he leaned over and whispered, "Luna is Jilli."

I was put out for a moment thinking about the spacy weirdness of her in the books, but then I watched film!Luna feeding the baby thestral and had to admit he had a point.

Hey!

I was put out for a moment thinking about the spacy weirdness of her in the books, but then I watched film!Luna feeding the baby thestral and had to admit he had a point.

What, just because I'd probably be willing to carry around hunks of raw meat to feed to strange creatures not many people can see?

When film!Luna summoned her Patronus and it turned out to be a bunny, Pete did turn and look at me. (Okay, fine, you're right, Luna probably is the Potterverse character most likely to take advice from a toy bunny intent on ruling the world. Like that's a BAD thing?)

Actually, the comparison made me genuinely love the character of Luna for the first time. And yes, the bunny Patronus was the point at which I could no longer deny his point.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I have had "Lily's Eyes" from The Secret Garden stuck in my head for the past week. It is driving. me. mad.

Just had to share. And thought it might be vaguely spoilery anywhere else.
