You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

It occurred to me just now as I was catching up in here that someone different took out each Horcrux, but my memory is bad enough that I'm not completely sure that's true. What I remember:

1. Diary, Harry 2. Ring, Dumbledore 3. Locket, Ron 4. Cup, Hermione 5. Diadem, I don't remember? Draco? No, Crabbe with the fire. 6. Snake, Neville 7. Harry, Voldemort

That's rather neat, I like that.

I'm looking forward to the movie of this. I think it'll translate better than OOTP (for example). It won't need to be compressed as much, and the tent-based period will be easy to skate over.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Oh! There was one reference to a past book that I couldn't remember. Harry remembers putting a wig and tiara on a statue of an old warlock in the Room of Requirement -- when was that? They only found out about the Room of Requirement in Order of the Phoenix, right? And the only time I can remember him going to the place where things are hidden was that once in Half-Blood Prince when he was hiding the potions book, and he didn't really take any extra time in there.

Also, was Voldemort then the first one to use the room for hiding something? Because he seemed to think that he was, but that room was full of stuff, so did that all get there in the 50 years since he left?

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

I'm looking forward to the movie of this.

It will be more action oriented, anyway. Flying out of Gringotts on a dragon! The battle of Hogwarts!

And, I'll have to check this on reread, but I think that Hermione says at some point that she's never done a memory charm before, but this is after she said she's modified her parents' memories. Did I misread something there?

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

IIRC, he did that to remember where he put the Half-Blood Prince's potions textbook. He didn't have much time there, but he took a few seconds to make the hiding place more distinguishable.

A quick hunt suggests it's in Chapter 24 of HBP.

Ah, thanks. I loaned my copy of HBP to a friend, so I couldn't look it up, and didn't remember that.

Oh, me either. I really need to go back and read it again now. But the internet is, as always, a marvellous reference.

I'm trying to remember now, when's the first time we saw each Horcrux? 1. Scar -- since the beginning. 2. Diary -- Chamber of Secrets. 3. Locket -- Order of the Phoenix. 4. Cup -- Half-Blood Prince. 5. Ring -- Half-Blood Prince. 6. Snake -- somewhere pretty early. 7. Diadem -- Half-Blood Prince.

That all right?

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

We first saw the snake when Wormtongue was with Voldemort, beginning of Goblet of Fire? The rest looks right.
