As the NYTs review mentions she does such a good job of piecing lots of stuff together. Good continuity (except Creevey... why was he at Hogwarts because wasn't he Muggle born?) throughout.

So many things to love in this book. So very many.
I love that Neville is the one to slay the snake. I also love that it is Ron's concern for the house elves that tips the scale and leads to the Big Kiss.

Love that Harry didn't kill Voldie with an AK, that Voldemort basically did it to himself.
In terms of the book versus the movie versions - I have to wonder how they will handle the Room of Requirement being the stronghold that it is in Book 7 after Umbridge blasted it open in Movie 5.

And in terms of closure, the final parting with the Dursleys worked. Dudley even had a mini-redemption that is sort of apt for leaving adolescence.
I kept expecting the Dursleys to come back at the end somehow.

Colin Creevy made me cry too, remembering his obsession with Harry when he first arrived. I think he must be at least a half-blood, because his brother was also sorted into Gryffindor.

Yes, I agree. I definitely liked Dudley's change of heart in the beginning, but that was just the right amount of schmoop for me.
