"Web finds Paul useful because he's beyond reproach," explains Minear. "He's sort of like the Exley character, but not so easily corruptible."
I had to read that a couple times before I realized he was still talking about L.A. Confidential. I thought he meant the author Frederick Exley (A Fan's Notes), who was eminently corruptible, whose corruption was central to what little fame he had, and I was very confused. But not anymore. At least not about that.
"She's Eve Arden," says Tim. I'm not sure how the lady who played the principal in Grease and Grease 2 is useful to Web, unless he needs someone to make frequent announcements preceded by a xylophone intro.
Dude,
you're
Eve Arden. She's the old time Hollywood queen of the deadpan snark. Actually Kristen might be a little more Eve Arden. You're more like the lovechild of Rosalind Russell and James Cagney.
(Allyson, you've spelled "cubicle" as "cubical" in the article)
Allyson is totally Eve Arden. Snarky, smart, observant.
Oh, and GREAT article.
"If anybody's anybody, I'm Han. And you're, you're Chewbacca."
Eve was quite the babe in her youth.
Allyson is totally Eve Arden. Snarky, smart, observant.
What about the rage? That's where I had to go to Cagney.
(Allyson, you've spelled "cubicle" as "cubical" in the article)
doh! I had to keep correcting cannibal ( spelt it cannible) throughout. I think I probably overshot.
BTW was watching NASCAR and they aired a promo for The Inside.
I just thought of something, is Web grooming Rebecca as his potential successor? I mean it's probably not a big motivating factor but is it part of his agenda?
