It doesn't really beg the question.
The Minearverse 3: The Network Is a Harsh Mistress
[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls and The Inside), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath.
Davids Simon, Milch and Chase. To start.
It would not be rash to consider him one of the five best minds in television.
I'd assume you'd need to be currently on air with a show.
David E. Kelley? JJ Abrams? Mark Burnett? Aaron Spelling? Jerry Bruckheimer?
I'd make a case for Glenn Gordon Caron. Although I don't watch "Medium" he also did "Now and Again," "Moonlighting" and "Remington Steele."
Should Rob Thomas go on that list? I'm not a Veronica Mars fan myself, but it's gotten a lot of critical acclaim and generated a lot of buzz for a show that about 3 million people have seen.
Speaking as a smoker who's sensitive to other people's issues with smoke, why not just let them know it's coming in your window? If I knew, I'd find another place to smoke.
Yeah, except they're smoking inside their house, which is kind of their last refuge. Unfortunately for me, smoke drifts, so what they smoke in their living room ends up fuming into my office.
Ahhh. Caught up on the mom/critic thing.
I do enjoy the Medium. Never expected it to, but it's damn entertaining/scary/astute. It's probably not for everyone, but I quite enjoy it.
jengod, put a fan in your window, blowing outwards. No smoke for you, no hassle with them.
Yeah. If you told me I couldn't smoke inside my house there'd be a problem. It would end with bloodshed.
Should Rob Thomas go on that list?
What about that lady who writes Prime Suspect?
Should Rob Thomas go on that list?
If you include him wouldn't you have to include Marc Cherry from Desperate Housewives? They're on the list but I don't know about top five.
Was expecting some flak for including non scripted people. Without criteria it's hard. I was looking at a body of work but then how do you not include Joss or Bochco?

For television right now, I'd include him, but of course I'm biased. I'm also hooked on Cupid, so I know the man's not a one-trick pony. He's at least a two-trick pony. Plus he writes good books.
