[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls and The Inside), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Would a DVR allow you to watch the East Coast feed?

No, it would allow me to watch with the ability to pause for baby related things.

Which come up at least every 15 minutes.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Which come up at least every 15 minutes.

We had to pause twice.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Ugh! Why must you people mention the Farscape eye thing??? Why?

I'm trying hard to forget about that particular visual.

Which one? You DO know there's more than one, don't you? Mooohahahahaha!!!!

Loved the episode. And why did just about every critic complaining about Rebecca's lack of skill ignore her comments about not feeling right for the job and having been groomed for statistical analysis? I think that's pretty up front about how green she's going to be in the field - most of what she does is going to be on instinct, not training.

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

I liked it. I'm not hooked yet, but I liked it.

The gore wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be, but I think all the "It's gory, it's gory!" cries might have steeled me enough that it didn't bother as much as if it had hit me unawares.

I must now stop posting and decide whether to watch Red Dwarf or review exponential functions.

Go Red Dwarf! Choose Red Dwarf!

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Yup. Okay. It was good.

As someone who watched only G rated movies for much of her adult life, the gore level was fine. Definitely overreacted to. The lighting definitely helped, and maybe it helped that I was watching on a tiny, tiny tv. But still. I knew I was looking at something unspeakably awful that would cause someone to totally ralph, but without needing to totally ralph myself.

I liked the bits of characterization that we were able to see so far. Of course it needs depth, but I'm interested, and if I didn't feel they needed deepening, then why would I watch all season?

I liked the narrative structure, and how we were introduced to Rebecca with the whole team, and introduced to the team with Rebecca.

I liked the particular story. Except, you know, the face ripping bits. The twists were all nice.

Now. Being close to the earth as I am, I will be watching the gender issues dynamics. It wasn't too terrible tonight, but given the nature of the show, I'd want to step lightly.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I did miss bits of it, because my mil came in to talk to me during it. Guess I'll have to reinstate my Buffy watching hours rules. Plus, I didn't have tivo here, so I was all, wait, what?

Would like to rewatch, but didn't tape here.

"In the equation E = mc⬧, c⬧ is a pretty big honking number." - Scola

Go Red Dwarf! Choose Red Dwarf!

Actually, I went exponential. On to logarithmic!

But first, this brief message. Okay, so one thing that's nagging at me, but only after my brain had time to settle a bit after the show -- she did that to herself? Holy Mother of God, that's freaky. Call it psychological goriness, I guess. Holy Hannah.

Also, if f(x) = ln u(x), then f'(x) = u'x/u(x). Thank you.

Yeah, well. There was plenty of that.
