See, I love an interesting "bad" guy. (It's the only reason I hang on to watching Deadwood). I want to know more.
my initial reaction was "omigod what an arrogant prick -- aren't there rules against that?"
It wasn't a laugh out loud line for me but I loved it. For me, it was "Awesome, he's an arrogant prick because there are totally rules against that!"

Oh, I did really like Rebecca talking her way through the vic's house. I thought it would feel forced, but it was very natural.
I really liked all those flashes with her dialogue coming out of other women's mouths and shit. That was way cool. I also really liked the way she worked her way to the subway revelation, how she kind of subtly shifted back and forth between first and second person (I think subconsciously, for her). Both those scenes show well that she really
does
get inside the heads of the victims...and as tiggy suggests, because she was one herself.
That was a very Mal Reynolds moment.
The front page of TI.org has a poll on the first episode now.
Edit: and it's getting about 30 visits a minute from Yahoo, the only search engine which has indexed the site so far. Looks like the show made an impact.

Yes it was, but Mal Reynolds is not sworn to uphold the law.
For me, it was an "Oh, no he didn't... oh, woah. He so did," line.
I'm looking forward to next week. I don't really expect to get a good feel for all the characters in the first episode.
I was cheering Tim's credits and then clapping and going "Yay, Allyson's the fourth victim." That's not usually something to cheer about.
Speaking of Allyson, anybody seen her around?
t he said, ominously...
If it were Firefly and that was Mal it would be one thing.
But Web's an FBI agent and there are rules and that bothered me. Maybe if I liked Web I'd feel differently but I don't and that made me like him a lot less.
