Tara: That was funny if you've studied Taglarin mystic rites and... are a total dork... Riley: Then how come Xander didn't laugh?

The Minearverse 3: The Network Is a Harsh Mistress

[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls and The Inside), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Technically it's not "news for nerds. stuff that matters." I suppose - but it's worth a shot.

It's totally stuff that matters. Don't nerds like hot blonde chicks and dead babies?

Never fall in love with somebody you actually love.

Shit. I forgot to hype the dead babies. I did name drop Rachel in the submission.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Does smart, for a critic, mean they agree with you? Or is there something else to it?

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Jessica, if you skip the teaser, you'll miss the worst of the gore, and I don't think you'll miss much story at all.

Thanks, that's good to know.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Hey, I pimped the show to the book guy last night! He was wearing a Superman shirt, and I asked him if he's the guy with the Superman car in the parking lot. He looked sheepish, and was all "yeah, I'm supergeek."

I told him I had my own geek cred with Buffy, and he brightened and admitted to being a Buffy fan too, and he asked me if I knew about "Serenity" and I was all, dude, I am HOOKED up to the info.

He then said "I think there's another show coming out..." and I was all "Hell, yeah! Tim Minear, blahdy, blahdy yammercakes." So he's all Tivoing it.

Do I get a toaster? Or at least a piece of toast? I'm pretty hungry.

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

As I've said before, I'll give the show a shot, but I'm not sure that it's to my taste. I hope the character/plot stuff will overcome the ew-ness for me.(I prefer my violence/horror understated, and implied.) That's just me, mind you.

This is me. And the fact that all the reviews feel the need to mention how gory it is, I'm concerned I might not be able to make it past it.

But I guess my questions will be answered tonight.

Hey. New board.

I've never seen SotL because I can't handle gore.

For what it's worth, Silence of the Lambs is an awful lot less gory than Se7en. Pretty much only two gory scenes, and you could be warned about them in advance (to close your eyes) if you watch it with somebody else. It's much more a drama than a horror movie.

Also, much better to ignore my statement about critics last night than to converse about it - I was probably not making much sense. A few too many Gin and Tonics.

Also also, IT'S WEDNESDAY YAY.

What is even happening?

well...how about that. The Inside is on imdb's homepage and there's a big honkin' flash ad for it at the top of the page too.
I saw that, tiggy. I was just popping in, to mention it.

I have done my fandom-ly duty and pimped the show in my lj. also mentioned your website, Kevin. of course, most of my friends were probably already planning to watch, but it never hurts to make sure.

Do you go to the Beta and the Fuselage at all, these days? If so, are the folks there talking about the show? Do they plan to tune in?

Who? moi??

Kevin, what made the SfGate's story even more tooth grinding for me was that it was side by side with a terrific story about Serenity. Annnd, Tim was never mentioned.
