If a Beagle and a Cat interacted such that there were offspring, what would said offspring be called? Ceagle? (What? There are no new shows for a couple of weeks -- my mind wanders.)

The Minearverse 3: The Network Is a Harsh Mistress
[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls and The Inside), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath.
I feel confident in saying that the outcome would be beagle strips suitable for stir-fry.
On Wonderfalls: I watched when it was on. I even recorded it to show to some friends to get them watching. However, after much anticipation, I picked up the DVDs the first day they were out and then showed them to friends who absolutely loved it. I gave several sets of Firefly away last year, I'm thinking Wonderfalls sets this year. I already gave one out. I also heard rumors that there was a chance for more. (i.e. movie/TV movie?) Has this been completely shot down as a false rumor or just on the back burner right now?
On the Ceagle: yum, tasty goodness. "Good dogs"

As my mother would say, that was for nothing. Wait 'til you do something.

My tv knows to watch The Inside now. Smrt tv.
I wonder when the boyf's DVR will show The Inside on it. I'll have to take a look. Surely by Saturday?
I was able to pimp Wonderfalls to my ex, who never watched Angel or Firefly (although I'm going to make him try the latter- I think that it's less intimidating for him to watch 13 eps rather than 5 seasons). He lurves it and I'm going to tell him watch The Inside, preferably with his roomates. Then insist they talk about it loudly in public places.
I have never had a beagle.
In fact, I haven't had a dog since I was 8, and that one was my sister's, anyhow. I've had a few dogs-in-law (sister's dogs that I've been able to either sit or borrow), and frequently borrowed a lovely springer from friends of my parents when I was in high school. I always thought I'd have a dog of my own when I grew up, and fancied a basset/beagle cross or a newfie for My First Dog.
However, in my adult life, I find that cats are far less work and less smell, and the as only dog I see on a regular basis is my MiL's annoying westie, a dog I'd like to nuke from orbit, I feel like I'm losing or have lost my dog lover's street cred.
Which means I need to find a dog that doesn't suck to remind myself what they're like when they're cool.
(You know, I swear I was going somewhere with this, but something ooky came on my TV screen and I totally lost my train of puppy thought.)
Jaye needed a dog. A dog would have made her happy.

This is one of the reasons I have converted to cat-person. Dogs are suddenly much less fun when you have to take care of them in addition to playing with them.

I hear beagles are good for that.
Tim, you have a better view of the industry than the rest of us—do you share my impression that Wonderfalls was sort of a breaking point for the TV critics? It seemed to me that the love for the show was so universal among them, and the cancellation so quick, that most every review of a Fox show for months after had some variation of "it's a good show, so of course Fox will cancel it" or "why does this crap get a chance when Wonderfalls didn't?"
