[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls and The Inside), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath.

Ooh, random finding. Nick Gomez, who directed the VM episode "You Think You Know Somebody," is directing the third episode of The Inside.
There are a couple ME alumni in the directing crew, including James Contner and Marita Grabiak.
Heh. I guess he's always going to be "Laws of Gravity" Nick Gomez to me, even though I see he's actually been busy in TV for some time.
He needs to call erika too (H:Lots, Sopranos, Oz).
Did you see my Oz post in my LJ, Hec?
Oh, cool, he did direct one in the first season! Also an episode of The 4400.
Now I'm wondering if Mrs. Bobbit named her knife.

I did. I loved Oz quite a bit in S2, but even by S3 it was straining my credulity. Not that there was any drop in the acting or writing, but just after the umpteenth gory revenge scenario with the same core group (with new fish), it was hard to believe Em-City would've been kept open. Everything was always at such an intense pitch it was hard to believe it would stay at that level.
