The Minearverse 3: The Network Is a Harsh Mistress

[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls and The Inside), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath.

Art Crawl!!!

Well, American Idol isn't what's in that slot for the Fall. I think it starts in January or something.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

The fall grid is misleading ... wait, no it lies. Head Cases has that slot then. Either way, The Inside doesn't. Worrying too much about what slot it might have in the fall if a) (let's hope) it gets picked up and b) we can guess where Fox is putting it -- is an exercise in frustration.

Well, I'm not going to worry if it doesn't have 22 episodes.

Allyson -- is The Inside 22 episodes for sure? (I'm sorry, I don't remember.)

Nope. Well, I'm sure the back nine will get picked up, but for now, it's a 13 ep order.

And I don't really know how the Summer season works. Might be worth a call to the network to find out how that run operates. At any rate, when the back nine does get picked up, it could replace a suck ass show in a different slot.

There's just no need to go Chicken Little about anything for the next three months. I'm not saying you have been, it's just that there's this odd hand-wringing that's happening.

I want The Inside to succeed. I love Tim very much. He's my friend, and I'm a great big fan of both his work and of him, so my wishes for success are double-deep. It's not just about my entertainment, but about wanting someone I love to be happy.

Given that, and given that I'm not in any state of worry about what may or may not happen in the Fall, share in my Zen. I'm going to enjoy the episodes this Summer with all my heart, and when the Fall comes, we'll see what happens.

I will say, as annoyed as I am that multiple shows are getting the same time slot (whether they conflict or not), that I would only be doing any hand-wringing right now if the show had been scheduled on Friday or Saturday. So there is that.

Never fall in love with somebody you actually love.

I've been trying to fathom out people here over the last few days from their posting styles, and Allyson, you've been a complete mystery to me. You still are. However, I think I've fallen in love with you (in a very non-weird way, to stress) from your last post here. Because, I think, it's greatness in a bottle (or indeed, a post sized post).

I love Mr Minear's work -- not him, as I don't know Tim -- but you pretty much sum up my feeling about The Inside. I hope it does well for my own selfish enjoyment, and for Tim. I'm ready for the ride, and I'm very relaxed about this one -- I went into Firefly and Wonderfalls worried from the outset, but Zen is here for me now.

Well now. It appears to be "Say Nice Things About Allyson Day."

This is great!

If I had known, I would have worn a sparkly flower in my hair.

Feel free to keep the compliments coming. Maybe I'll be all inspired and go find a pretty boy tonight at the Derby or something.
