[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls and The Inside), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath.

Not so much closer to the earth, but coming at you LIVE from your hard drive, baybee.
I started writing a show description that makes sense, and then I realized I was acting craxy. What i should do is wash my face and curl up in bed with a book.
So I drop in here to talk about how SCARY ASS the promo for The Inside was, and how it did make me psyched for the show, and (hundreds of posts back) I see Tim and Allyson discussing the Old 97s! When Obsessive Media Consumption Behaviors Collide!
I have seen the Old 97s, and Rhett Miller solo, more times than I can count at this point, and often with Buffistas. (Joe Boucher on Rhett's performance style, said in typical Joe deadpan: "He's Gumby, dammit.") Msbelle even has a small-town-Texas connection to Murry.
Their "The Other Shoe" would make great background music to a murder scene. I'm just saying. Did I mention the "The Inside" promo was scary as all hell?
Tim sent me a bunch of iTunes suggestions of the Old 97s. Weightless is my favorite.
They used "The New Kid" on VM.
Yes, everything is Veronica Mars with me.
I love "Weightless"! Even though (or because?) it always makes me think of the Talking Heads song "Heaven."
Lately, I've been listening a lot to "Adelaide" and "Bloomington" off the new record, and seeing them perform it live got me started on liking "Friends Forever." But the record I always try to start people with is Too Far To Care, which I wrote about for Hec's book. Check out "Timebomb," "Barrier Reef," "Salome," and "Four Leaf Clover" (with Exene!) from that record, if they have them on iTunes. I'll even spot you the 99 cents per.
And if you, or Tim (hi, Tim!) get a chance, you should see the band, or just Rhett Miller solo, perform live -- they're a very very good band, and Rhett's solo acoustic shows rock harder than you think they could.
They used "The New Kid" on VM.
Yeah, that's the only Old 97s song I know, for that reason.
Polter-Cow, which VM episode did they use that on? And co-incidentally everything is Veronica Mars with me also.
So, this The Inside malarky, is it dark as in "Cracker" dark? The British version that is.
"You Think You Know Somebody," Episode 5. Near the end.
