May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Allyson, what weirded Fox out about your set report?

That I was there. My set report ended up reposted in various forms around the 'net, so I think FOX was a little freaked, wanting to know who this reporter was snooping around the set.

I'm just tickled that they thought I was a journalist.

I'm still baffled. I've never been able to figure out where they might have read it.

Swouncing

I hope it's not marketed as Another Cop Show. That would be wrong.

I know nearly nothing about TV, but what you say makes sense to me, I mean, in that sense, H:LotS, for example, was Another Cop Show, right?

Gah, I'm sorry for the constant shilling.

For me - and obviously I can only speak for myself, here - you've never expressed any opinion which wasn't your own, with reasons and explanations behind it, and it's not like you've praised automatically anything ME/Tim - again, you just expressed an opinion, your own, and if it happened to be a good one, well, then, yay, but that's just the way it was. Oh, and you were never afraid of shanging your mind and beginning to like something you didn't like before ("Firefly") or to dislike something you used to like ("Buffy").

So for me, due to all that, those snippets and reports and excitement and pictures and the like make me look forward for things to come.

[Edit: and, yeah, it has an aspect background here, reading your posts for enough time so that not the words alone give them meaning, if that makes any sense, but then it's this whole social stuff, that always makes me confused when I try to think about it and I never really understand what y'all are saying when you're talking about it, so I'm not going into that.]

Also, you make me wonder if the show may not be too dark or gruesome for vanilla me. Still really excited and looking forward, but wondering.

You know, we could experiment and cancel football.

Good point, Nilly!

I am hoping for just dark enough to be fascinating but not dark enough to preclude 5 seasons.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

From the sound of it, I might not have stuck around for the show if it had been from other creators - I'm not sure something that echoes Silence of the Lambs would appeal to me every week based on content alone. But knowing that it's going to have better writers than anything else on TV makes me eager just to hear how all the characters will talk.

Actually, Allyson can answer (I think) one question/concern I've had, what with all the talk of SotL and SEVEN - does it bring any of the funny in there somewhere (no matter how dark funny)? Given the writers involved, I would think it would HAVE to, and to not would be a waste of some major strengths.

You may have said - I should probably go back up thread and look, but work is currently kicking my ass.

Yes. Katie Finneran's character, Mel, is a riot.

I wish I could tell you my favorite line from her, it's tag worthy.

Heh, yeah after Wonderfalls I'd sort of expect that.

Stake your claim in advance (without giving it away).
