[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls and The Inside), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

I hated Totem Mole, but I don't want to rehash all the reasons here.

I didn't hate Safety Canary at all. There was lots of Good Aaron in it.

Also, which episode had the monkey reply with "Because you listen" because that was easily my favorite moment of the show.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Cocktail Bunny, I think.

Any episode with Aaron is retroactively my favourite -- I just like some of those more than others. Oh, except for Barrel Bear. It was just wrong. The Jaye/Eric interaction doesn't fit at any point in their timeline.

I fought the law and I won!

Barrel Bear reminds me of the Firefly episode The Message. Mahandra's hardline position on Milly Marcus rang false for me just like Mal not telling Tracey the plan and letting the situation escalate resulting in his death rang false for me in The Message. That said, I do like both episodes but those moments brought them down a bit, in my estimation.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

Lilty, when you asked why Totem Mole was necessary because

I thought that by the end of Cocktail Bunny, she could have been on her way to accepting them.

If I remember correctly, Jaye complained that "the monkey lied." He was going to tell her why they talked to her and she was expecting some life-affirming message and just got "because you listen." It wasn't enough for her. There was no purpose behind it and she needed a purpose.

Totem Mole gave her that, sorta.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

Pretty pic of The Inside cast

Thanks, Allyson! That is a pretty picture. But it's missing Katie.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

"Cocktail Bunny" is sweeeet. I can't imagine it working so much earlier in the series as they'd planned. I love how on rewatching the episodes, you can see what the muses were really talking about, and how consistent it was even though Jaye and the audience always misinterpreted them.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

What's up with Jay looking 15 years older than he did on Coupling last year, though? Does Rachel have Ampata-esque life stealing qualities?

I'm a bit sad now that I've completed watching "Caged Bird" and have no new Wonderfalls episodes to look forward to. But seeing the Welcome to Wonderfalls documentary was great. I loved it when Caroline said she channeled Jaye to break up a barfight by slapping a drunk and yelling "SNAP OUT OF IT!" Also, Bryan Fuller turned out to be much hotter than I'd expected.

Perhaps it's the daily goodbye from the Dred Pirate Minear:

"Good night, Jay. I'll likely kill your character in the morning."
