The Minearverse 3: The Network Is a Harsh Mistress

[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls and The Inside), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Aww. They couldn't get the rights for the Frou Frou song in the pilot. It's been replaced with some other trip-hoppy song. Damn. Man, the use of Frou Frou was one of the things that made me love the show in the first place. At least I still have it on tape.

The "Greetings from Wonderfalls" featurette was great, very entertaining. Warning, though: it's spoilery!

I was fine when existence had no meaning. Meaninglessness in a universe that has no meaning -- that I get. But meaninglessness in a universe with meaning? What does that mean?

I bought my copy at a Borders in Hollywood -- my friends and I bought the three they had left (someone else had snagged the fourth earlier in the morning). The DVDs were number four in sales on Amazon on February 1, which was awesome.

Did anyone watch the webcast? It was a weird format -- the 279 fans who signed up were on a huge conference call on the phone and watched the video portion on their computers. Caroline, Bill Sadler and Lee Pace were on a webcam in NYC, Tracie Thoms was on the phone in San Francisco, and Bryan, Todd, Scotch Loring, Tyron Leitso and I were on a webcam in LA. It was chaotic and fun. FOX is planning to either rebroadcast it for those who missed it or make it available for download, but I don't know what's happening with that right now.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I have achieved Wonderfalls!! Virgin - no. ("We haven't received our shipment yet.") Borders - no. ("We just sold out our last copy.) Target - "Uh, I don't really work in this section." BUT, I looked and looked and finally found them. Bwahahahaha!

Also, Emmett got a Teen Titans cartoon Robin outfit with the green gloves and everything.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

The status is NOT quo.

I just finished watching all of Wonderfalls. I am deeply in love with it and deeply depressed that it went away.

I think Cocktail Bunny was my absolute favorite. One of the best hours of TV I've seen in a long time.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

So I waited until 7:00 for the UPS truck. Then I got a phone call. By the time I left work it was 7:30. What did I see a block away? A UPS truck, apparantly making a delivery. So I went back to the office and waited. Then the UPS truck pulled out into the street... and drove on by.

Maybe because the driver was already out half an hour after they're supposed to be done with deliveries s/he decided to go on home.

What do I see when I check UPS tracking?

Lying bastards. I am rather unhappy with them. But I did laugh when the truck drove on by....

No, it is not a very detailed outfit. However, mask, vest, birdarang, Titans communicator, and slinky green gloves. The mask is actually sort of a cross between a mask and lensless glasses. Not very authentic, but it still looks cool, and it's comfortable.

Well. My DVDs shipped from New Castle, DE at 9:39p last night. I live about 20 minutes away from NC, DE. But they're not here, and I am sad. And whiny. But at least they're on the way.

My DVDs came to me... and then drove on past.

Right now they're sitting in the dark. They're cold... and probably scared.
