[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls and The Inside), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath.

Oh, excellent. Thank you Kristen and Allyson. And thanks, Tim, for taking Allyson on the tour!

This looks promising. I like the thought of pulling some talent from Karen Sisco, which I liked a great deal. Carla Gugino, sigh.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

Oh, Kristen was with me. Tim is all famous and stuff. When we got there, I said, "I'm Allyson, I think I have a drive-on." The guard said, "Yes you do, I tried to call John but he's not picking up. Just ask the first AD you see walking around and they'll tell you where to find him. Everyone knows who he is because he's Tim Minear's assistant."

I stiffled the guffaw.

Special thanks to Allyson for fighting off her cold long enough to write this piece.

Yes.

Not having has never been the thing I've regretted most in my life. Not trying is.

I'm even more hyped about the possibly-to-be-renamed show now.

I squeed with the noiresqueness of the descriptions.

Okay, clearly I'm in need of a dvr for timeshifting purposes, because I'm having a hard time even remembering when any show but Lost is on, and I do not want to miss a second of screentime on this one.

Darn your sinister enabling, Tim.

Kristen - Dec 20, 2004 10:01:30 am PST #3743 of 10001

I feel fairly certain that it will be impossible to miss the reminders of when Tim's new show is on.

I hear his PR people are psychotic that way.

Hey, I like the dvr enabling.

The thing is, psychotic PR people notwithstanding, I keep hearing about Veronica Mars, for example, and a couple other shows I might be interested in.

I'm not even keeping up with the OC. Broadcast TV has become such a peripatetic wasteland the last few years that even the few things I would watch, I just forget to turn on the TV. Most evening, I'm watching DVDs or reading or something similar.

So, if I'm going to keep up with anything, it's going to require some extra measures.

Which, for Tim's new show, I'm feeling inclined to take.

Enabling away!

Any clues to the new name yet?

There's a few choices. I have a favorite, it begins with an S and is followed by some vowels and consonants. Yes indeedy. I think we'll find out pretty soon.

Silence of the Scythe? That would be a cool Tim related name.

Minear will spend the Christmas break working on a rewrite on his adaptation of Heinlen?s The Moon Is a Harsh Mistress, and working on a pilot for a show he created for ABC.

Heh, that immediately reminded me of this.

Tim Minear "The Minearverse: YExpirationDateMV" Apr 3, 2004 11:06:43 pm PST

Tomorrow morning I'm gonna sit down and figure out exactly what Fox needs in terms of what's missing from their scripted programming. No joke. I'll approach it scientifically and specifically. I'll create the hit pilot with franchise legs that will allow them to build big in the scripted area in such a way that they'll be able to relax a little and nurture slower building shows. Something that would give them some stability. That's what I'll create.
Then I'll sell it ABC.

What is even happening?

Heh. Me too, Edain. It also had me holding my breath that Minear might be doing two shows at once. He is in a haunted office, after all.
