You're nice, and you're funny and you don't smoke, and okay, werewolf, but that's not all the time. I mean, three days out of the month, I'm not much fun to be around, either.

[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls and The Inside), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

ETA: When, exactly, did I turn into a glass half full person?

Could it have anything to do with not having to put up with all the mess of organizing a Caritas party for a while now? 'Cause seriously, the stuff you (and Allyson) had to put up with between that and the auction a couple of years ago would have had me leaving a trail of bodies all across the country.

Embrace the idea that we are the leaders we've been looking for. Grace Lee Boggs

I read 3 of the books and decided I really didn't need to continue. Third cousin (once-removed) of Dune just doesn't have the same punch as the original.

I think I made it through three or four. I've noticed this with other series as well. I only made it through about half of Mercedes Lackey's books, and ditto for Piers Anthony. I absolutely adored them, and waited anxiously for new ones to come out, but after a while they became the same book over again. For as much as I love Mercedes Lackey, I really think nothing of hers surpassed The Last Herald-Mage trilogy.

Oh, yeah. The topic. Hmmm. Yeah beagles!

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

Beagle puppies are so cute . . . there ought to be a law against the massive cuteness.

Guy #1: Man, there are so many hipsters around. I hate hipsters! Guy #2: You're at the wrong place. That's like going to Vegas only to say "I hate titties!" --The Warsaw, Williamsburg (OINY)

Read all the Dune books. My favorite (aside from the original) was God Emperor of Dune. That book was really trippy and cool in a completely different way than the first book. I just like the world FH created so much I could live there. Although I draw the line at the godawful "prequels" done by Herbert's son.

Actually own a copy of the Dune Encyclopedia.

And the man who rips our hearts out with his teevee voodoo goes home after killing us and hugs two of those cutieface puppers.

Huh.

You know, we could experiment and cancel football.

Should I mention here that AB just told me that Tim thinks Serenity is really really good?
