Mal: Well, look at this! Appears we got here just in the nick of time. What does that make us? Zoe: Big damn heroes, sir.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

If he still has the same opinion after War Stories, I may have to cut off his ear.

Narrator, Cindy- good to see you guys. With the utmost respect I say, Bronzers rock. I don’t post anymore, but I lurk. Obviously. Can’t give this community the time or respect it deserves, but still need to keep a finger on the pulse of the ‘dom, and need to keep up with posters I’ve always liked.

Okay, first, baseball. Went to a game at Wrigley once in my life. There can’t be any better place to see a ball game, and I say that holding a deep and abiding love in my heart for the right field overhang at old Tiger Stadium. And Wrigley has got to be the hardest partying park in the major leagues. I saw Andre Dawson hit three home runs, everyone was drinking heavily, acting out, and after the game I danced to reggae music at the Cubby Bear across the street, rubbing up against strangers in a way one doesn’t usually rub up against strangers without getting arrested.

But the ALCS? Once years ago when I was still living in Michigan I came off an exit ramp onto the interstate in a blizzard. Lost control and did a few complete 360’s. Luckily there was no traffic, and I came to rest in the direction I was intending to go in. Watching the last four games of the ALCS from New York was like just like that- everything happened in slow motion, and there wasn’t a damn thing one could do about it.

But I love baseball, which means, in a sick way, I loved even this. I woke up in the spring listening to games from Japan. Baseball is a story. Winter here is cold, and bitter, and chills us to the bone.... Now Leaving Sunnydale. Come Back Soon. Like, next spring.

Secondly, the election. People are posting in other threads about the election, but I use wayward threads to post on, when I post. It felt so good to vote. It was a lovely fall morning in Brooklyn to be at the Bethel Baptist Church on Bergen Street. There was a lone cop at a table on the side, drinking coffee and reading the Daily News. I was surrounded by my neighbors. Photos of past Black elders of the church hung on the walls. And we had the booths with the big red handles that made that final, satisfying chunk of a sound to register your vote after you had flipped those small but substantial little black handles against the names.

I could be hitting the pipe, but I think Kerry’s going to win. I don’t know. But I think we’re going to win.

And, Thirdly- I did rewatch Out of Gas the other night. Tim knows story like Mariano Rivera knows the cut fastball. More Tim, please.

I used to wish the Bronze Nighy McNight, ’cause on Buffy we would always cut to the Fighty McFight, back in the Pruitt days. Nighty McNight, Buffistas. I still say we’re going to win. It could just be my love of country and two martinis talking.

But I don’t think so.

oh, Monique! You are Monique, yes?

Train Job left me cold, until the whole kicking thing. Firefly had to grow on me, but then, so did Buffy, however much it was seducing me like a saucy wench in its first season with its characters and writing alive like an alive thing not seen anywhere else on television.

But I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again- after Prophecy Girl ended I had to have that show come back for a second season. After Out of Gas, War Stories, Ariel, Objects in Space ended I had to... have a movie, I guess.

So I'll end- finally- by declaiming the most self-evident truth I know-

Gina Torres needs to call me.

New Wonderfalls for me tonight. Crime Dog, I believe it's called. Did you guys get that? If I want to talk about it, should I take it over to the spoilers thread?

Very excited about actually watching a whole episode.

Yay Crime Dog!

And yes, we've just started discussing it again in Lovesick, My Ass, as the Canadians just got to see it.

Aha. Time to subscribe to a new thread methinks. See you in a few hours.

"Being hungover is like winning the lottery, except they pay you in regret!" - T-Rex

It relatively safe to head in there if you don't want to be spoiled for future episodes?

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

No, we discussed the finale in there.

Yeah, I stopped reading about 50-55 posts back when finale discussion began. Can't wait 'til February.

Embrace the idea that we are the leaders we've been looking for. Grace Lee Boggs

Buffy S7 this month, then Wonderfalls, Angel S5, and then the BDM. I am going to be so damn broke this spring.
